Transmission: T5/T5
Axle/Gears: 3.73 and stock TrakLok/stock GM
Last run for my T-top...
Well, last week, I replaced my tranny lines and tuned my carb a little and got the grey primer, t-top 82 Berlinetta running again. I took the tops out and decided to take it for a spin before I had to part the motor and tranny out to another car...well truck 
I am cruising and kinda watching all the gauges, seein where my oil pressure is sitting, what RPM's are doing in each gear and such. I roll up to this stop light and my car has warmed up for my electric choke to no longer be neccesary and idle drops to around 850. It sounds really good, like a real lumpy *** cam. Road is a two wide (or 4 lane road)....I just hit the red light so Im listening to the lumpiness of my cam and such. Suddenly, I hear this loud sound, really sweet and I look over and what do I see.....none other than a Fox Body GT mustang with t-tops. I look at him and kinda nod my like "whats up" and he looks at my car and snickers...nothing new ,the whole grey primer and dented passenger fender get that alot
. Then he throws a rev and I smile and throw one back. Then I hear his car clunk into Drive and I know its an auto so I got a better chance, I take the Slam shifter into 1st and begin to build my RPM's up. the BFG's are holding really good and Im built up to about 2200 RPM. I watch the other light, it goes yellow and no one is in the turning lanes, so I look at my light and then...
GREEN! Bam, I floor it and I hear my tires start screeching and my RPM's fly up to around 5000RPm as my motor is roaring and he floors his car and gets the same wheelspin....I let out, grab and punch it again, instantly grabbing and I watch my tach, and the Stang is right beside me. I slam into 2nd and my tires bark really loud and I hear his AOD hit 2nd and Im pulling half a car or so on him. I hit 5500RPM and slam hard into 3rd and its smooth and hard and I pull another half a car, putting his nose right on my rear bumper. I have no idea what my speed is but I let out around 4000 RPM in 3rd gear and hes about a car to a car 1/4 behind me or so. I slow her down and notice my Camaro is out of gas, so I pull into a gas station...the Mustang follows me and I park hop out and start pumping some expensive *** premium in that tank
Guy in the mustang gets out, hes probably around 30 or so, long hair, real skinny, kinda scruffy. He comes up to me and asks what kinda motor I had in the engine bay. I said 305 and he said "Bull**** man, no way!" I finish my 10 bucks of pumping and pay then come back out and pop my cowl hood. He looks it over and such and says thats gotta be a 350. I pull my handy dandy casting number book out and show him my casting is a 305 block. He asked what I had done to it and I told him and such and he was still in awe a 305 wasnt 20 cars behind him lol. I asked what he had done to the Fox and he said 3.55 gears, shift kit, u/d pulleys and a Bandit shifter. We chatted for a few and parted ways. However this is not the end......
Mustang guy follows me out and I head out to the Expressway going home. We both get on and the Expressway is about 4 lanes wide. He stays behind me most of the way and then I get one more run.....out of a 2nd Gen Eclipse. Its black, black wheels, pretty stock looking, super black tinted windows, and has a loud muffler. Eclipse rolls up beside me and downshifts, so his cannon is real loud. He gooses it then I goose it then he gooses it. Guy in the Mustang hops into the lane beside me (passenger side) and the Eclipse on my drivers side. Guy in the Mustang downshifts and Im like 'damn, there went my gas mileage'
I downshift to second gear (dont trust my kickdown cable, not in a race) and rev to about 4000 RPM (we slowed down alot to get a good roll going). Guy in the eclipse hits his horn...honk, honk, HONK!
I floor it and get going pretty decent. I hear a big sucking sound beside me and look over and hear the damn turbo spooling up in the Eclipse and im like "Oh ****!" And he pulls his nose ahead and I look down and Im at 6300 RPM and Im like "Dammit!" and slam into 3rd, it shifts hard. I look over, the Mustang is a hair ahead of me and I start pulling up again and all three of us are dead even....then me and the Eclipse slowly, VERY slowly begin pulling away from the Mustang. I had maybe a foot ahead on the Eclipse and neither of us were pulling ahead and I let out and so does the Eclipse and the Mustang had let out before either of us. Eclipse rolls its windows down and ITS A GIRL!!! Im like, holy ****! She smiles at me and Im smirking and she gives me a thumbs up and yells "Not too bad for a Third Gen!" I smirk and say "Not too bad for some ****!" She laughs and I wave bye as I hop off my exit.
I gotta say that was the most fun I ever had in that car...the only fun I ever had in the car.
Saturday I pulled the motor and tranny and the Camaro is now a rolling chassis Im getting rid of.....that 305 was nice but Im looking forward to having a bad and built 350+ coupled with a manual in my future RS's engine bay

Hopefully the guy buying my motor iwll bring it down to the track so I can see what it'll do in his S10 
Shifty, I think that motor had plenty of time to do that....last ditch efforts on 305's just isnt happening anymore, my roommate with his super clean 383, T-56 87 IROC-Z has convinced me to step up to a 350 block and well, Ive been itching for a 91-92 Rs like my old one....now to see if it can all happen
