Got chased by a minivan, he got my tags

I guess this goes here.

Well today me and my friend went to this new subdivision that didnt have any houses yet to get some video shots for a music video of my car (like a few of u have done). I did a couple of burnouts, donuts, and takeoffs for the cam in one of those circle things. Then as we were leaving, this minivan come flying down the road in front of me, the guy swirves in the road to block it off and gets out well im sitting in my car. The convo is as follows:

Him-"whats your problem son?"
"nothing im just doing a video"
"well i cant help what you're doing! you think this is a drag strip?"
"um no, its not anything yet."
"whats your name boy"
"my friends call me dan "
"i think i know who ur daddy is"(turns to write my name down on a paper thats on his hood)
"no you dont" (while im slamming it into drive and taking off.)
"him yelling and shaking his fist"

He then gets into his van and chases me. Im easily 400 yards ahead, just enough where he can see me. But then lucky me, is out of gas. I try to keep goin, but its stuttering around turns. So i let off some, still way ahead and he wont give up. And my friend is telling me where to go.

So then im so worried about my gas, i just say **** it. I slow down to a 20 mph roll and just cruise. He gets behind me but cant do anything. Im sure he got my plates and called it in. But after 5 minutes he just turned off and went home.

But theres not much he can do cept file a complaint. One, its not even a real road yet. Two, he doesnt own it and only the owner can charge me. Three, they dont have proof it was me, not even a tire mark would be enough to say i was spinnin tires.

This guy must of had something stuck up his ***. He was big and im only 17 so i didnt find it a good idea to get out and fight about it. Especially since my friend with me only weighs 119. No need in fighting over it tho, its none of that guys business. He didnt even live in the neighborhood, but a house on the road near it. Its all a bunch of .

If i had a full tank of gas tho, i was less than 3 miles from the highway

There is evidence on your video tape. Your tire marks are on the street. Your friend is a witness. Doesn't sound good.

See I caould understand like if his house was close by or something and you were like doing it in the street and like putting his kids at risk if they came outside or something, but your in the middle of no-where. he's gonna be one of those old guys shaking his fist and yelling at kids to get off his lawn in 20 years.

no the first thing we did was delete the videos. I could just have super soft tires leaving marks. My friend would plead the 5th.

Did u forget the law protects the criminal?

pleading the 5th would only be for protecting himself
pleading the 5th isn't an option to protect someone else. that is obstruction of justice

Unless it the minivans property or you somehow damaged property(I doubt tire makes would fall under that category) you should be fine. The cops didn't witness anything.

What he should've done was call the cops while you were doing your thing. The dumbass couldn't even do that right

rx7- he kinda would be protecting himself. But i thought u could just plead the 5th no matter what. Or he could just say, i dont remember.

Cat- im pretty sure they wont be able to do anything either.

nitrous- actually i was thinking about leaving some marks for him in front of his house (with a full tank of gas) or a nice coating of paintballs would look good. But that would just be asking for trouble.

twobirds- couldnt agree more. All he could do was hear and see me. none of his business. he was just pissed off his minivan couldnt do it

go find where he lives , get in another buddies car. And then light it up infront of his house. But make sure you have gas this time. I saw the 350tpi on ur info and i'm thinking. Ok he has this one in the bag hes good to go outrunning this van. But wtf lol. I woulda flipped my plate down in no time. Then flipped the bird like usuall and go about my buisness. I'm telling you. They need actuators for our cars that bolt inbetween the plate where you just hit a button and bam shes down lolol. I hope everything is alright . later

LOL! thats funny!

I've been in trouble with the police and called them a few times myself. I'm going to tell you unless they were there and saw you do it the cops won't give a damn! Me and my friend tried to report a old man for child molestation and the cops never even came! The sad part is my friend is about to be a deputy! Unless it guns or drugs the cops could care less.

I some places leaving marks on the road is a violation. It is damaging to the road. I got a ticket once that included "Abuse of a Public Highway in a Manner to Damage the Road" or something like that. I was passing someone and the tires broke loose a bit.

Yes, you can get a ticket for spinning tires.

But I think the cop has to witness it.

Fact is I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes the cop saw me and he would have to see me to give me the ticket. I was on public property. My point was leaving marks is considered property damage and the land owner could probably press charges without the cop seeing it if he could prove it was you.
