This is a terrible, terrible tragedy. It breaks my heart to see anybody lose their life, and family/friends lose their loved ones. Especially one of our fbody brothers. I think stories like these bring up the painful question that maybe kids this young shouldn't be allowed to drive cars like ours. Maybe they can adapt some age/HP regulations and help reduce the number of these tragedies from happening. ANY car can kill you if driven irresponsibly but with 300 plus HPs on tap the odds of such events goes up exponetially! Especially when this power is coupled with youthful bravado, its a recipe for disaster! It happens all the time. Heck, my engine was pulled out of a rolled over camaro! I know this may offend some of our younger members but the reality is that at this age the level of maturity and responsibilty is nowhere near where it needs to be! We all were there, its scary when I look back. These kids did nothing wrong, they were just being kids. Unfortunately thats the problem, and I hate to see it. RIP
while i agree with you to a certain extent, i lived of course looking back i did stupid stuff, but these cars dont have 300 hp also this is the insurance companies job the more hp u have the more they charge
but it doesnt matter, as far as im conserned these cars are pretty safe, hard to roll hard to flip as they are really low to the ground and stock they arent fast, in fact these cars of ours stock are the slowest of the slow for maros and birds sorry to say but its true, and boys will be boys we will do stupid stuff, you live you learn if you dont well sorry you got delt a bad hand. you have to lose some to make others learn, you lose one though and youve lost one to many.

Well said. I'm young and so are my friends(of course), and I'm scared of what I might do with a fast car if I had one right now. I know so many people at my high school that are fu**ing stupid when it comes to being responsible with cars, and like you said, we can't really help it, it's part of being young. I know a kid that has one of the new mustangs and crashed it into some guy in the freeway, and it was determined that it was the guy he crashed into's fault. I know for a fact that this kid drives crazy all the time. I could only imagine what it must be like having been involved in crash that's blamed on you with some dumb *** tearin up the streets. I think the biggest problem with young drivers is they don't know when to say enough is enough or when it's okay to speed(if at all).

I know how you feel. I never really thought much of people dying until one of my friends died. He didn't die from a car crash(drugs) but I felt a really weird feeling after he died. For some reason I still expected to see him outside my house, playin ball. It's really really really wierd to have someone you know CLOSELY die. I felt like I could have prevented his death. He was way into gettin high and when he was about to huff or toke up, or drink, I would always stop him from doing so. Still don't understand where he is. RIP.

even with those who know what they are doing mistakes still happen as well.
there was a guy here a few years back died in a crash. very experienced auto-x, and if memory serves me right did quite a bit of drag racing in his RX-2.
one night though he was racing and crashed (don't know the details) and died.
even look at drag racing with ppl who have been doing it forever stuff still happens ppl still wreck even with the slower cars.
things break you loose control and then the lord calls your name.
so jocww I see what you mean though cause if stuff like this happens to those who are experienced think of what happens to those of us who don't know what we are doing.
and by all means I'm not saying I haven't done stupid stuff cause I have. top speed runs in my mazda, or for that matter just driving my maverick much less trying to do 75 when there is snow just off the road (road should of been clear by that time). or driving my celica in the snow at 55mph when you know there could be snow or ice just about anywhere, or the times racing any of those cars. I was stupid and in some ways I will admit I still am but at least now I know I can't just be as reckless as I want I know I need to keep things slow and carefull cause as alwasy stuff happens.

I liked the part where some clown said that there was a reason those cars are the most dangerous in the world. HAHA. Clown.
On the other hand, I was impressed at the complete lack of people pulling the old internet attitude of "If it's not my friend, they must have been stupid." Thumbs up to that at least.

I'm only 19, been driving for 4 years now and have never had an accident (knock on wood). Only thing ive had was a speeding ticket in my 318 cherokee for shutting down some wise *** in a civic who was cutting people off and ****. I stopped speeding after that cause the cop wanted to have my car impounded and to take me to jail and he also tried busting me for not wearing a seatbelt, he assumed i wasnt cause i undid it pulling into the lot. I always wear my seatbelt though. So not all of us young kids speed. I understand that it is a majority rules kind of deal though, im not saying i dont drive a little wild sometimes just every day whenever i go out isnt really for me.

I completly understand the thoughts here as I had a friend die in a car crash, and I feel partly responsible. I built a 302 for a friends 68 stang and not long after it was done, he and another friend went out joyriding in it and he was ripping on it, lost control, flipped the car and in the process lost the top of his head, while my other friend lived through it to see what happened, and I'll live with that 'till I die
and I can attest that it's not easy to forget.

Im 17 and I live in kinda've a weird place. Theres the village with the school and lots of people and then 5 minutes away, theres nothing. There are lots of roads where you can get yourself killed on very easily. It is almost guarenteed that some senior from my high school will get himself killed on a twisting road late at night a couple weeks before graduation. Never seems to fail. Thankfully, I have never lost a friend to that sort of thing, but I cant say that my friends and I dont do stupid stuff once in a while. The funny thing is tho, I find I tend to get myself in trouble more when driving my other vehicle, a 96 Explorer. Maybe because I dont drive it as much, and I sometimes treat it like its a Firebird, who knows. Point being, there are a thousand reasons someone can get killed while in a car, and having more HP doesnt seem to be the common denominator where I come from.

I definately take it easy on the streets, and to see some cracker in a civic doing 80km/h in a school zone makes me wish i packed a gun to cap him for being such a doorknob. I will still go and do the odd street race but its always when theirs no traffic and houses, still a bit stupid but at least theirs less chance of killing someone else if something goes wrong.
Its actually quite amusing to see some lil civics and neons trying to race real cars around here when the streets are busy because everyone just gives them the bird, most people around here driving muscle cars are somewhat smart that way.
