Last weeks Fun!
1. Last week the monday before thanksgiving, I was at a light and a Chrysler Sebring with white muscle stripes, Street Glow in white vynly on the rear bumper, the west coast cross on the front bumper, ARP or whatever on the windsield, and a huge wing on the rear deck pulls up and wants to go!
He lost, Badly. Even though I did not hook up till halfway though second! (gotta get a posi in there!)
2. I was leaving school the next day on my way to work and passed this mid-80's Bonneville, the one that is related to the Malibu, and after about a mile he comes up and wants to play! We were on a mostly deserted interstate and I thought I had an easy win. oops! I beat him, but it took me till about 4k in 5th to really pull away!Turns out the guy is a schoolmate so I asked him what he had in it and he said a 305 with minor mods. I did not expect to have to work that hard to beat him!
3. A riced out Misubishi Mirage with a wing wanted to race this past saturday. it was a not a pretty sight! Even though we all know that a wing and graphics adds like 100 hp to your car!
Anyway, I hardly ever get challenged, but last week was an exception. A fun exception!

You have a t-5 and a 350 and you barely beat a mid 80's bonneville with a 305 and some minor mods, hmm sounds like you need a new 350.

Would have been more entertaining if we actually knew what kind of engine/drivetrain you have instead of just a "350/T-5".
Good kills either way.

I wanna know what gears you have to get an idea of how fast you were going at 4k in 5th gear before you finally started pulling away from this Bonneville.
If you have 3.73s, you'd be going 130mph in 5th at 4k RPMs. You should've been pulling on him long before then.
If you have like 3.23s, you'd be going 150..

My 350 has apprx 6k on it. the previous owner claims it has vortec heads and a crane energizer cam. It feels like a very mild cam. I bought the car from a dealer I trust not to b/s me, at least as far as he was informed by the P.O. He did have the short block receiptsand the mileage checks out, but no receipts for the heads/cam. I believe I have the orig open 3.23 open gears and by the time I hit 4k I was pulling away fast, I put about a 1/4 to 1/2 mi between us in a hurry! I am not impressed with the "performance" mods the P.O. made either way. The fan clutch stays on almost fully engaged most of the time,(I just bought an elec. fan to correst that!) the exhaust is just about true stock, no cat is the ONLY mod done to the exhaust. and I think he re-used the orig. q-jet, b/c I am getting a very slight hesitation when I romp on it. However, all of the above items are going to be corrected as time/money allows. And the Bonne had true duals with a 4barrel, k&n, and manifold, according to the owner.
