my bird vs a 350z

what a fun last night, while on my way to see Walk the Line. I was at an on-ramp turn waiting for the green. When this nice silver 350z pulls up. My 2 friends are like race it, race it. I was thinkin he probably wouldnt race, but whatever ill try. So right when the light turns green i give it a little gas and i see he is also into it, i shift into second pull a little. Short shift into third, and start hitting the turn, now hes at my back door now, and I'm at 2500rpm in 3rd. i see hes staying even but once i hit 3000rpm and start to pull hard i put an easy 2 cars on him by 90, it was alot of fun. I was surprised at the performance of my car. I hope to visit the track soon to see how it does with better timing and the new distributor.

First off, good kill there 7plagues! If the time shown in your sig is current/accurate with the mods currently on your car, then of course you know that, as mentioned, the extra weight of your friends was no, uh, well, friend.

A friend of mine has a 350Z Enthusiast version (supposedly a few pounds lighter than the regular Z and a few more HP) and I have yet to see him or any of his Z buddies run any faster at California Speedway than your 14.5. Traction is usually an issue at this track, but still. I'm figuring if you dropped your friends on the curb and let them watch you'd shred the Z no troubles.

Just watch out for the older 300ZX twin turbo cars, especially if modded. I went up against one at Cali Speedway last summer and ran a 14.5 (no, NOT with my V6 thirdgen) to his 11.4 - he was a speck in the distance when I crossed the line!!

Not to be an ***....but for the mods done to your car, its kinda slow. with some good tuning and sub 1.9 60's, you should be low 13's/high 12's easily. Your car has ALOT of potential, now its time to put it down to the ground and get some good itmes!!!

BTW, Good kill!!!
