My understanding these cars are really heavy and the non-turbo models we're dogs, correct me if I'm wrong. If this is true, you shouldn't have a problem.

i raced teh turbo version from a roll before i got the converter in and with original 2.77 gears. it was about dead even with him maybe starting to creep on me once i topped out 2nd gear and it wouldnt shift into 3rd

i'd race this kid for cash... as n/a, they will get RUINED by a decent running L98

You should beat him easily. Do you have any track times for us? If not id say your in the 14.4-14.6 range. His car is a high 15 low 16 second car. So you should not have any problems.

He's stupid and his car is slow. Non-turbo = waste of space.

I've already race a non-turbo 3000gt when my car had a 305 TPI I killed it easy. You should have no problem and by all means bet some money!

What year 300zx, the mid 90s model? They've got 222hp I think it was stock, about like the 3000gt DOHC has, but lighter I believe.

Why'd you only beat the 3000gt by 2 cars, what speed did yall race to?

I would think you'd beat the 300zx but if the 3000gt race was close...

Only beat him by two car lengths? I was thinking it would be more like 12-14 in a 1/4 race.

How many freaking times do I have to go over this? Do we need to make this a damn sticky?

Golden Rule:
If a car comes from the factory with an option of a turbocharger, but the one you are racing does not have that option, then it ****ing sucks. Yes you can race it.

as far as 3000GT's go I raced a Dodge Stealth a week ago (basically the same car)and stomped him by 3 cars.So if my "lowly" L03 can stomp one that tells you something.

Yah, those VR4's are crazy! All wheel drive, all wheel steering, twin turbo! I wanted one... but I guess the xfer cases break and are hella expensive to replace.

As for non turbo ones...

VR-4's don't have All Wheel Steering. Only the Stealths have that.

They totally do... look into it! http://www.cjbyron.com/3000gtspecifications.htm

The Stealth was just a rebadged 3000GT.

Wrong. There are several difference between the two cars. That page you linked is just some random guys page. Not a credible source at all.

The Stealth is the American cousin to the 3000gt. THe 3000gt was imported by the Chrysler Corp. and repackaged under the Stealth name. They differ only cosmetically, (and a few options such as Active Aero for the Mitsus) The power ratings are the same for all the corresponding models (ES/Base, RT/SL, RTTT/VR4).

Now email these sellers and tell them they don't have AWS:

I knew as soon as I said that line about not knowing who you were talking to that I'd be wrong. **Although I haven't checked yet**

I'm very aware of what a DSM is, thanks though.

Turns out I had it backwards. Only the first generation Stealth TT's had All Wheel Steering, where as ALL generations of VR4's came equiped with it.

Nope, never had one. I'm a mod on www.highaltitudeimports.com and a few people have had or have DSMs. My source is my buddy with ten of them at his house. I asked him for a source (just in case you called me out) and he said, "I've got a '95 Stealth TT in my garage right now, need the chasis code?" He's got like 7 Stealth TT/VR4's and three other DSMs in his garage/driveway. His neighbors hate him. heh
