Whee! Another F-Body win!

Got home from the DMV (re-registering) today and thought, "Wouldn't it be fun if I went out and dominated some ricers and Fords today?"

Curiousity got the better of me and I went to the local hotbed for import street racing, and much to my dismay, the place was deserted! I got 2 kills though.

The first, a 4.6L Mustang. Lined up on him and took off, stoplight drags. Took him by 2 car lengths.

The second, a S2000. I was on the road going about 30, he rolled alongside me and honked, I looked over and he was pointing down the road. I had never raced a S2000 before, so I figured, "meh, why not." So I nod and he takes off. Those things are quick! Before I even punched it he was about a length in front of me, so I smash the gas and catch up and we play cat and mouse for about a half mile, going something like 90. :-P
Then I had to turn to get to my friend's house, (had to take her to a birthday party and I was late as it was) but it was fun while it lasted.

Of course, plenty more to come later on, but I feel good since this is the first time I've driven the car in almost 9 months.

If I raced a slow brick, I guess I'd be proud to not be able to shake an S2000 too.

I do NOT race my car. I don't even take my car over 4,000 rpm.

The last Honda I had (that I raced) would tear this guy a new ******* if he was impressed with an S2000.

Yeah I am impressed by an S2000, my RT wasn't as good as it could have been since he was the one who dictated when we started.

In addition, I'm having fuel issues and cant get any power above 4000RPM. lol
Fuel pressure spring is too stiff, gonna replace it tonight and see what that does.

Sweet, now it pulls to 5000, gotta concentrate on my ignition now so I can rev to 6k (redline on the crate motor)

well with 300/370 he should have more than enough power to take an S2000 in a thirdgen.. hopefully you get that fuel issue figured out

If that 350 in your car is a crate motor rated at 300/370, I can assure you it wouldnt be anywhere near that with the Toilet Bowl Injection youre running on there. If you say it is...I would like to proof from some runs on a dyno, or some track times.

Oh boy... now we get to race friends cars!

Also dont count on dyno numbers or track times. Those are proof, and a LOT of people are scared to see what their cars can actually do. Afterall if you buy a crate motor and run 14s, you feel like you wasted money, but if you go out and beat other cars on the highway, you spent your money well.

Aren't you the one that always brings up his father's mustang? Or was that another mustang guy.

I don't know. You're all the same to me.

Yeah, thats why I'm tuning it. In any case, it would seem as though we're getting off topic, arguing whether or not my rig is good enough.

The fact of the matter is that I took the S2000, and yes he did know we were racing. I can't comment on the skill of the other driver because I don't know him, but I won, regardless of whether or not my setup was running at its full potential.

Thats all I can say.

If your TBI is anywhere close to tuned right you shouldnt have a problem with a s2000, drag racing that is.

I do mention his, but I also race that car at events... It is his car, but Im usually the one driving it... Also Im not ashamed of my car by any means.

And dont worry Im much more matur ethan to lump all thirdgen owners into one group as you seem to have done with Mustang guys. If that was the case I would have been banned years ago for the insults and mockery I would have been slinging.

But you lump me with every other Mustang. Lots of people do, and I personally love it. They think Im a punk kid, with a catback and filter who doesnt know what he is doing... feels GREAT proving them wrong!

You come on here talking about beating all of these cars with a stock L98? But thats not the point. The point was you just come on here, talk about absolutly nothing, going on about beating cars that should and would walk over you, eat you, spit you out and eat you again. Obviously you're some kid who "smokes weed" and is really just a pain in the *** to be around. So either keep you're stupid comments to yourself, keep the topic on hand in you're posts and grow the **** up. I'm done...lol!

I'm really tired and just needed to rant as well. Take it as you will.

sweet.

good job with the ZX2T.

As far as my fuel issue that I was talking about goes, I'm considering two options, first, an adjustable fuel reg, which I can do in about 15 minutes, or DIY PROM, which, in the long run, would be better, but initial setup would be a pain. Now: I have smog in 20 days, so I'm thinking I'll just run lean until then.

If you're worried about smog I'd for sure go with the adjustable PROM so you can fine tune your tip-in, and off throttle maps, etc.

thats what I was thinking too, but I won't be able to get the PROM done and tuned within 20 days. I'll run the stock maps and get smaller injectors for smog only.

How much did it knock off your ET?

Ive heard people getting 2-3 tenths off on stock motors, which is incredible for only 60 odd dollars. And you can make one yourself for really cheap.

Well it was more on the mph side. But if I seemed to be low on mph, I added a few lbs and got it right back. At the dyno I gained 20 rwhp or so.

how many PSI did you bump it up? Did you tune the FP using your O2 Sensor?

This sounds like a worthwhile mod.

btw, mods, this looks like a prime opportunity for a topic split since, for the most part, we're starting to get off topic.

Did I tune it using 02 sensors???

I have a regulator on my injector lines. I just go there with a gauge on the line, and adjust it. I run about 40 psi of fuel give or take. When I was down on mph it was at 36, threw it to 40 and got a couple mph off it.
