1988 camaro 305v8 TBI Lo3 5-speed 74k miles (stock besides K&N air filter) vs. stock 2005 mazda 6 sedan automatic w/ 'slapstick' 10k miles

just wondering the outcome of this race, the mazda is a friend of mines car, i have driven it several times and it has some decent power for a small car... it's the 4cyl which i know a V8 should be able to kill but from reading on here alot of these new 4cyl cars will put up a good race to older TBIs

from personal experience i dunno if those cars came with V6s too but one that lives around the corner from me we messed around one day and i know he has the 5 speed and i have the stock 305tbi with an auto he had me but very slightly. i think since you have the 5 speed and hes auto you should have him.

 

i know a little about the cars, just don't know if it would beat me,
they come with a 2.3L 160hp in-line 4 cyl, and the s versions with a 3.0L 220hp v6 (i think the 6 only comes in the sporty ones with the ground effects and spoiler etc...prob the one you raced?)

and they are avail with 6 Spd Automatic; 4 Spd Automatic; and 5spd manual. my boys has the 4speed auto,with the slapstick. i think i should get him but 160hp in a new car vs 170hp in an older car, manual or not i think it should be close. ???? anyone race one?

 

There is also the MazdaSpeed 6 which comes with a 2.3 liter turbo 4 with 280 hp AWD.

They look the same. They have the wing and areo package, plus larger wheels, brakes, stiffer suspension, etc.

yea i raced the v6 version and recently the kid sold his car and bought the mazdaspeed and no i dont even want to try ive seen what it can do.
