Here is one for you guys.A buddy of mine has a 77z (datsun) and is building a 327.It has double hump heads but I don't know the cam or compression.He says it is going to make 350-375 hp.The car only weighs 2400 with the inline 6.So my guess is about 2600 pounds after the v8.I think its going to be pretty sick.12s at least.Already runs low 13s with 290hp at the crank.

Buddy of mine put an LT1 in a 78 Z. Runs mid 12's NA and mid 11's on spray. Very cool. There are a couple of vids out on streetfire of it at the track.

BTW, his car weighs 3010# now with cage and swap.

 

No point. I just thought that it would be kind of cool to see an american v8 in a 70s Z car.

 

Well it's been done before. Many many times. So I'm sure you could search around and see some picturs long before your buddy is done.
