85 Z28 vs 03 - 04 Mach 1
I raced a 1969 Mach 427(lose by a bumper) a week ago. Yesterday I was driving to work and stop at a red light there sit a 2003-2004 mustang mach 1 the guy and his girl giving me the look so I throw a rev he throw one back. Light turn green and where off well off the line he got me only because it rained a few hours ago road was still a little damp so I spun I let up on the gas got some traction then jumped up to about his door at about 45 – 50 I started pulling fairly hard 60 I was walking him like a doggy fun race he drove by gave me thumbs up. Only things I could see on the mustang was aftermarket exhaust he had a pacesetter sticker on the side so I am thinking headers.

Agreed. A well driven Mach one will run basically the same times as an average driven M6 LS1 car. No slouch by any means and respond very well to mods. There are many mach 1's out there with a few mods running high 12's.

oh burn that was a little uncalled for. you should re-read my post bud. and if i ever move to florida for any stupid reason and my ss comes ill be sure to give your little 355 a run for its money
. your car kinda has a similar set up to my old 83 z28...except mine was a 5spd with 3.73s..not to start more **** but i bet my old 83 would take u down. MAN I THOUGHT THAT CAR WAS FAST AS **** too...until i drove my car
edit: just thought about this i know of some 400rwhp ls1s out in florida.. u interested?

Do you honestly think I’ve never driven or been in a LS1 car I owned a 2001 formula Trans am. Yes there amazing cars and motors but there not super cars I’ve raced Ls1 Z-28 (mods) and beat him. I know ss have more HP and im not saying I would beat you I referred to you racing me because you said I couldn’t beat a Mach 1. Where I live we only have a 1/8 mile track I running 8.5 on that.

What tire are you running an 8.5 on? On a street radial maybe low 13s (Stock LS1 terretory) on any kind of tire going sub 2.0s, mid 13s.

Good kill, but when you say "the only reason he got me is because it rained a while ago and I spun"...that's the most stupid thing I've ever heard
and this is why:
Mach 1's are RWD too, you don't think if YOU had problems with traction, he didn't too?
anyways, nice kill for sure

Also if you run an 8.5 and its not at 90+ mph I find it hard to believe you walked him as hard as you made it sound. A stock Mach is also a mid 8 second car at mid 80 mph... I would have a hard time walking one that bad and I have run faster than 8.5 on my street radials!

i just find this race hard to believe when the mach 1 probably makes more power then you, is better geared and probably has better power under the curve then your old 355.. AGAIN anything can happen on the street maybe the driver didnt know how to bang the gears
