So I work with this guy who has been talking a lot of **** saying he'd junk his car if I bet him in a race. He has a 92 5.0 Mustang LX Vert. It has a Roots super charger, GT40 Heads, E303 cam, blue printed, full exaust,ect..... May car is an 89 Formula 350 with pretty much every possible bolton- no power adder,stock heads, stock cam. (mods in sig) Any I have nothing to lost if he beats me he has a lot more mods. So I tell him any time. Now he thinks I'm upto something and he keps ducking the race but contiues to talk ****. So last night we are both at the same car show and we have a few other guys that we work with pumping him up to run me. I say let do it. We find a road with a nice straight away but we have cars coming up for behind us. I would have just waited for no one to be around but we have one one infront of us. Anyway he wants to go from 45-50mph on the first run. I hit 2nd gear and we go. WE are both door to door to 100mph. Now he want to stop and get some gas, i'm like whatever. I tell him I want to go from a stop or slow roll. So on the next run we go from 10-12mph so we both don't have traction problems. By the time we got to 100 I had him by 2 1/2 cars. Last run was on the way back. He won't go from les the 50 because I think he knew my car was stronger down low. I was about 1 1/2 cars behind him when he jumped on it. I was like WTF? I tried to pull him down but only closed it to him having a one car lead. But it was such a bullshit running because he jumped me by almost 2 cars to begin with. So we pull over after the races and get out of the cars and he said wow i'm really surprised you kept up with me. I was like we tied on the 45-50 mph run, I bet you by almost 3 cars on the run from 10-100mph and the last run you started 2 cars up...LOL. Then the other guys who were watching the races all said that I bet him. I told him if he didn't believe it we could do it again but he wanted no part. Its pretty bad that I beat him because my car on the last dyno pull made 251.26RWHP it might make alittle more now. His car made 320RWHP. Not sure if my Formula is lighter then his vert? But he's heavy 300LB and his passenger prob was about 160LB. I am 180LB and my wife was in the car with me is like 115LB so I def had some advantage there...lol

 

He should junk his car, Our 91 with Explorer heads, stock cam, bolt ons and NO power adder made 300 rwhp and has been 12.00 @ 112. His car has the potential to be a mid 11 second car vert or not, but it sounds like the owner is a moron.

Congrats on beating a much faster car, must feel awesome! Now tell him to give it to me, watch it make 400+ rwhp and run 11s!

 

yeah I know he should have that car running better then it did. I figure he'd be some where in the mid 12's. My car runs low 13's Maybe break into the high 12's on a good day. So he def isn't running the times that his setup should.

 

He should be 12s on motor, let alone with boost. Oh well if hes happy with it, cool, I wouldnt be!
