night of racing
Well i met up with some of my friends at a local checkers then went to are street racing spot my friend on the board 90camaroTBI raced a turbo elclipse (1998) with intake and exhaust and beat him by a car. My friends 97 5 speed beat a 01 gt and the final race basically the main event was me vs. a turbo talon with a rebuilt engine upgraded turbo intake exhaust intercooler all the works computer tuned and we raced i expected to get crushed but i beat him twice a car from a stop and a half car from a roll. Now i only ran a 14.4 at the track spining with just exhaust and free mods and horrible driving got some bugs worked out and learned some sweet spots to were to launch and shift my question is how does my 5.7 tpi iroc with 2.77 beat that talon hes a good driver too. I keep hearing that my car has a cam since the way it sounds at idle and that its been rebuilt caz whenever i did work to the car is has fresh gaskets does my car have to have a cam or better heads to beat this talon or did i really beat him with just the stuff i have in my signature. I also raced a 05 srt-4 with bov, wastegate, intercooler, and 18 psi by a car from a stop and roll to so i dont think its a freak thing let me kno what you think.

It really depends on just how modded that Talon is.But taking down a SRT-4,your times are about right.I dont think you have anything other than what you've got listed in your signature.
I run with a group of talon drivers quite often.Only one or two of them is excessivly fast(one runs in the 10's).The 12,13 and 14 second talons all have the same basic mods.It just depends on who's got the BIGGER mods, more boost and the little extra's to help the other mods work better.

I doubt you have a cam or any significant work done you don't know about. Your trap speed looks about normal for your car.

I doubt you have a cam as well. SRT-4s are notoriously weak from the dig and the high powered ones can't get traction from a roll anyway.
Your car runs hard but I'd bet it's just bolt-ons.

yeah i talked to my friend in the talon yesterday he said he has a mitsu turbo bigger then stock he said, boost controller, intake, full exhaust, rebuilt engine with forged internals small intercooler, dsm link, and a bov. He just got a huge intercooler in the mail and its upgrading to a evo fuel pump and injectors so im sure he'll beat me now. the SRT-4 did do better from a roll but according to his friends i spun more from the roll then he did and for the launch i whiped him badly from the dig up until the 1/8 mile or more then he started creeping on me. It felt pretty good beating them both since the both thought thirdgens were slow and pos.
