Need some tips on racing.

Ok first off, i know that the start of the race is critical, and i don't wana be stuck burning out for 5 seconds while the other guy easily makes it to the finish line before I get half way. Whats the best way to start out, btw my cars automatic but I do have 1st and 2nd gear... Any other tips would be apreciated to.

Every car reacts different. Several different factors decide your launch (driver, tires, tranny, rear gears) I have a manual tranny so i can't help you with the auto part. What i can say is go to the track and test your launch. That's all i do. Every time you change something on the car, it will change the way it acts at the track. You want to find the perfect launch so you don't spin and don't bog down or stall. Also, make sure you heat those tires up good As you can see in my sig, i spin on my launch but hopefully drag radials will help that in the spring.

for the launch hold one foot on the brake and hit the gas with the other foot this will make the rpms go up without moving but you can only rev it so high before your tire starts spinning so find the max. now when launching let off the brake and hit the gas as far down as you can go without spinning find that sweet spot.

The term "stalling up" is holding the brake and pushing rpm to the point of spinning works well, but I assume you have a open diff, you will get more stall speed and better launch out of a limited slip unit, the gear ratio will also severly effect 60 foot times, drag radials, or even a wider tire will help you, when heating you tires up you do not need to over do it, street radials over heat easily, a 3-4 second aggressive burnout bill do, the track is the best place to try different methods, but your 60 foot will be different on the street, most radials hook up better on the street, and the opposite for "racing" application.

drop it in 1st, hold it in 2nd and dont hit 3rd too early. Its easy to skip 2nd and go straight to third, its important because 2nd is where most of your powers at.
