Need HELP
Well I just bought a 1988 Iroc with a L05 and a TH350. The engine has a 670 Carb, a new intake manifold (not sure what brand), LTs, 3.73 posi. Well one of my friends drives a 94 Formula Firebird and He is already talking ****. The thing that pisses me off the most is the fact that he thinks no one could have ever keep up with him. I know his best ET is 13.8 so do you guys think i could keep up or even beat him.

Spray it! You can bet him with spray. If you don't beat him the first time pill it up. If you're already planning on a 383 build then go ahead and jet to 200 kill him. Leave the timing at 0, cross your fingers and go for it.

By chance would you know what that L05 came from and what has been done to it?

Well I ran some numbers the engine is right around 300hp and his at the stock 270. My car out weighs his and according to the #s it is 3480 to his 3311. well if you take in to account he out weighs me by at least a 100 pounds then i should have on paper

If that L05 has unworked swirl port heads it's not making 300hp, if it has the Vortec heads I could see that easily. You could just run him and see how it goes, or you could take it to the track and get a time slip. It's hard to say what your car will run because it's far from stock with a swapped transmission, engine, gears, and sporting a carbeurator.
