Weird
Had something strange happen today. I was sorta racing a co-worker down a semi-remote section of highway, on the way to work this morning. He owns an early 90s Z28, 305 TPI, Auto. Anyway we were just running down the road at 80-85 mph passing each other, etc. Very light to NO traffic. Anyway, as I agressively passed him a police car pulled onto the highway behind, lights flashing. I was already out in front and moved to the right lane, slowed down to 65 mph, waiting for the police officer to pull up behind me and pull me over. What happened next amazed me. He pulled up behind the Z28. Anyway, long story short I was definately going faster and the Z28 driver got nailed. 94 mph in a 70. I was running above that. How is it that I got away clean (knocking on wood)and he nailed the much nicer Z28? Is it a bias against Sports Cars? Perhaps he thought it would be impossible explaining a Van doing triple digit speeds on this uphill section of road? Just want your thoughts on this.

Really if you look at the ticket avoidance section of the site, there's something there about bigger vehicles being clocked easier than smaller...(duh). Maybe he clocked you by some freak way and just pinned it on the sports car.

Happens all the time. Driving a Camaro, Mustang, or anything with a single buzzy exhaust with a 4" tip (usually with 1 and 7/8 piping behind it) means you have a big target painted on you, a neon flashing sign saying "Ticket me for ANYTHING possible."
I used to race around a lot in my Grand Am, and later my SVT Contour, I never got picked up once by a cop in either of those cars when racing, the other guy always got it. Every time. Some cars are just under the radar, and you don't get much more under the radar (so to speak, not physically of course) than a fullsize van.

That sounds pretty normal to me, I get pulled over easily once a month. But most of the just "slow down and take it easy, son"...I think its the cars....
