third gen vs 78 mustang 2
ok i currently have a 91 camaro with a 350 tbi, soon to be a 350 tpi, full exhaust 458 lift cam k$n filter, stock 3.23 open gears. how would that do against a basically stock 78 mustang mach 1 with a 5 speed and a 302 with a 2 bbl carb? all it has done is true duals.
Re: third gen vs 78 mustang 2
i agree completely, a guy down the street from me has a 78 mach 1 (gold with black mach stripes) its a beautiful car but its pretty slow so you should be more than fine..

The funny thing about that car is how much they're trying to copy the trans am. The hood decal, stripes, wheels, displacement sticker on the side of the hood scoop, etc.
Its great that it just looks like a blatant cheap imitation. I wonder if it seemed that way back in the late 70s too. Although the old trans ams had pretty much the same amount of cheesy decals, people still look at those and think they're cool, where as they look at this hunk of crap and just laugh.

wow, thats plenty ugly. it took me a second to realize that its a cobra on the hood facing torwards the scoop. it kinda looked like a moth or butterfly at first.

Hmmm, those front headlights look very similar to those off of a late 2nd gen Camaro. All that pin striping is quite a bit over kill on that...thing, IMO.

Beautiful car????? hell NO. Besides they share the same chassis as the PINTO. Complete pile no matter how you slice it.

A futile attempt at glorifying a Pinto.

Okay a 15 or slower car... in this day and age, minivans and SUVs run those kind of numbers. It might have been faster, but nothing special at all!

Camaros are considered pony cars as well. Therefore it's cousin the T/A should also be considered a pony car.

Re: third gen vs 78 mustang 2
I read the title and thought it was going to be the mustang vs a 2.5 3rdgen. this is a joke right? ever go to a mustang car show? these cars are the joke 90% of the mustang owners don't even concider it a mustang and I would not either.
yes the f-body is a "pony car" GM's product to compete with the mustang as in "the pony car war"
