91 Rs vs 01 Z24 Cavalier

So my friend has an 01 Cavalier Z24 thats got all stock parts. My camaro is also complete stock running the 305. Both of us have 5 speeds and haven't actually 'raced' yet but have played around some because I just got the engine fixed up and running like it should be with some good ol fashion home done wrench work and blood.

We played around when my car was running like **** and only had 4 of the 8 cylinders firing all the time, while 3 others would fire occasionallyand one was never firing. When playing around I could easily race him up and down the sandhills here and devestate him but on flat roads my car was too slow in accelerating because of the obvious reason.

So now we have ourselves a race setup for Monday night out here on a flat quarter of a mile. So the question is, whom do you think is going to win?

I'd say you got him from a dig.

From a roll it's anybodys guess.

Try to drop some weight if you can,

Re: 91 Rs vs 01 Z24 Cavalier

Well we did the race. He chose the area and it was an area I hadn't drove on before and was there 30 minutes before me sitting around waiting. My other friend with his 84 Camaro coincidently went out to the same area to give his 350 a test since he has had a lot of problems with it.

Race was quite interesting as he wanted to count to 3 and I wanted my friend since he was out there to simply do the 3 flashes of brights. So I let him count., another advantage for him . He gets to 3 and is right on his gas, gets me off the line as haha I'm sitting on gravel with my rwd so I have little traction and I didn't want to burn my clutch. So he jumped 4 cars on me right away so the entire way I was playing catch up thanks to my lovely start

It was an awsome round of catchup tho. I only lost by about quarter of a car. His friend that was with him that was at finish line with mine got a little cocky at the end ragging on how I had 4 more cylinders and still lost, but my friend(the driver of the Z24) admitted that I should have had him easily which I agree with. I didn't even leave any rubber or manage to squeel my tires on take-off as it was that crappy so my friend said he will take a rematch on my road of choice this time with my starting rules.

Sad thing is, he sorta wanted to race my friend with the 350 but after I caught him that fast he was kinda afraid to take on that beast that kinda disappointing. Was a good race all in all. We woulda kept going for 2/3 if a massive storm hadn't been brewing in the background.
