I live in NY, and im going down a highway towards a salvage yard to get a fuel gauge and temp gauge..i see this silver tiburon gt and so i ride up next to him and im already going about 75 and i just burry the needle..my speedo goes to 85 but i had him a good cars length until my car felt like it gave up or a rev limiter ....he slowly passed me..i was pretty pissed but when he did pass me i could hear a whiney sound from his car so maybe it was turbocharged...i dont know much about those cars...

they are pretty quick little cars my dad used to work for hyundai and i would test drive the cars i think they were rated at 260 hp dont quote me on that

its actually more like 170hp. and they only make about 180 ft/lbs of torque. they're quick for what they are, but they are by no means fast.

Probably not turboed, Fbodies are not known for their highway prowess, which is why he walked away in high RPMs.

Not trying to be a **** but maybe we should rephrase that to thirdgen fbodies. 4th gen LS1's are pretty nasty from a roll.

My friend has a tiberon gr. It ran a best of a 15.7 in cold weather.

I figured this was known and didn't need to be said. Also there are modded Fbodies out there that are obviousely fast from a dig or a roll, but a stock or near stock TPI car, is a terrible car for roll racing.

With the five speed and a 3:45 gear mine does okay. Just use forth 'till about 120, then shift. Can't complain. Certainly quicker than a Tiburon, LOL!

i work for hyundai and the gt is slow 173hp and most of them have 5sp not 6sp. on the other hand they did make a supercharged tiburon in 05 with a 6sp that wasn't slow at all. i'm willing to bet if your speedo only goes to 85 then you don't have a fast fbody. at least not a fast stock fbody. fyi the next gen tiburon will be (or should be) v8 awd. so don't be pissed if one of those ends up betting you.
