87 gt vs 91 rs

so heres he story, me and my friend were on our way to a local meet at a fudruckers in turnersville nj wen all of sudden a hear a loud monsterous exhaust note come roaring by me, of course, it was a fox body lol i havent had good luck with these cars wen i was stock lol thats a fact. So of course i catch him at a light, but this time i know ill give him a race, wenthe light turns green we both take of pretty hard atthe light i shift a 5k and hes about a fender in front, then i just start pulling on him(not hard at all) but enough to beat him by a half a car, turns out he was goingto the meet too, i asked him wat he had done and he said just a catback, he was pretty cool about it, my faith will never fail in my 305

Re: 87 gt vs 91 rs

Hmm, what is done to your car?

A racing story can be better told with details. Otherwise it is hard to believe anything.

I did some mods and now i cant beat an enzo.

See how vague that is?

Nice run... a catback only fox could be low 14s, could be mid 15s! A win is a win though!

Re: 87 gt vs 91 rs

yup and the mustang was most likely blowing the tires away.
i have had more than my fair share with mustangs and it takes some to beat them.i had a 91z28 lb9 5-speed,headers,flowmaster cats back(dual cat car)
3.73s,pulley kit, performance resource chip running 13.9s that was barely enough this was back in the early 90s in HOUSTON mustang central.
not all stangs run the same!watch out for your next FOX encounter

Re: 87 gt vs 91 rs

they were underrated by ford.
figure this
91 5.7 z28 700r4 245hp weighing in at 3686 14.2@99 mph(stock)
91 5.0 GT 5spd weighing in at 3360 running 14.4 @100(stock) has to be 230
roughly.these are cars i have had and the times i ran...
89 AOD LX w/3.27 gears 15.5 stock,converted to 5spd 14.1

I'm not trying to be an *** but why would you gut an interior on a 14-15 second car?

Re: 87 gt vs 91 rs

lol well ive gotten many tickets for ppl being in my backseat and doing stupid thing, like wen i had my honda prelude a girl stuck her hands out the sun roof and the cop gave me careless driving and i had to pay 400 bills not to get points on my license, so i figure if i take out the backseats i can avoid too many ppl in my car.

The cop gave you the ticket? Hmmm, he should have given your passengers the tickets unless the **** state of NJ changed things.
