My neighbor has been talking smack to me and all I can get from him is that its a S/C GT Stang with full exhaust. I know if I cant cut my ET to my goal of 12.00 I have no chance of taking this guy. He claims he has 500 fwhp...but i have never seen a dyno. Arent those things alot heavier than our cars??

fwhp? Front wheel horsepower?? It is possible to get 475 rwhp with an intercooled Whipple with the stock 3.375" blower pulley. There are smaller pullies....

The GT500 is factory rated at 500hp. The '07s make around 420-425 rwhp stock. The '08 is rated the same as the '07 but they are making 440-445 rwhp.

My friends blown 07 GT pulls very hard. Me and my other friend were in his GT500 and raced the S/Ced GT and he walked slowely on us.
I currently own a intercooled Whippled '05 GT (5-speed) and a stock GT500. Although the cars share the same body style, each feels uniquely different so it's hard to make a true comparison BUT I'll try. The '05 GT feels like it pulls a little harder.
Flywheel, okay..... The intercooled Whipple kit advertises 500 hp.

what do the gt500's run since Ford underwent the retro look? mid 12's?

Mid to upper 12s on average, a good driver could put it in the lower 12s, but the mph will be significantly higher than 107 which is where he will get you.

as your car sits, i think he's gonna get you depending on the boost he's running and his kit. I do believe there is one at my track that was cutting mid 12's at 110-112 mph.
a vortec blown 04 GT was there doing 11.70's at 116... he had some boost in that car and is abit lighter than the 05+ gt's.

107mph was with the s10 converter remember? it flashed around 2300-2400 which isnt crap
yeah you may gain alittle with the bigger converter but i dont think it will be much more than 2 mph or so.
cuz with a 1.7 60 foot or a 2.0, i still trap the same and a converter generally just helps ET and mph doesnt change a whole lot. sometimes it will decrease mph

edelbrock TES headers and single 3" catback the problem for the low mph?
i would think you have some power to gain with longtubes and bigger catback.
you have shorty headers on a 383? arent the edelcraps only 1 5/8" as well? your without a doubt leaving a huge amount of power on the table with that exhaust setup. definately get some long tubes with 1 3/4" primarys and a larger catback (although id run cutouts behind the longtubes and just bypass whatever catback you have when you go to the track). youd probably see 3 - 4 mph with an exhaust swap
where is stafford VA? i want to run one of those new blown Stangs in my Vette but i cant find on around here. id run him for you if youre semi close

i heard the GT500 is on par with the C6 vette... about 114 mph in the 1/4, which is only a few mph faster than the old cobra/ terminator

114mph huh? thats what i trapped in my Vette untuned. havent had a chance to run it now that its tuned (Cecil opens in late Feb) but id expect it to do a bit better

114-115 sounds about right, but with a CAI and tune your approaching 120 fast!
In the FL heat, my friend's 100% stock 07' GT500 made 406 RW, trapped 109. CAI & tune, 480 RW - 12.20's @ 118+ w/ drag radials.
Another local 07' did 423 RW with more miles, 505 w/ CAI & tune. 13.30's @ 110 stock, 12.00's @ 119-120 modded. Both cars are on par with the rest I see at the track in Orlando.

25th, what does a GT500 pull mph wise?
I thought about doing the cutouts and not even trying to do the true duals or single 3.5" catback for cost reasons, but I cant find a mechanic that would pass me with cutouts on there.
