Re: Me VS 79 camaro

He's probably got +200 lbs on you with about 20 Hp advantage if the engine hasn't been touched... that's just an average of stock low-po 350's though. If it's a stock Truck motor he could have anywhere from 150-250 Hp depending on the year he got the 350 out of. I doubt it will be a slaughter if he even beats you.

Re: Me VS 79 camaro

If its a 350 TBI (LO5) it would have 210hp/300tq. If it was an older carbed 350, I seriously doubt it would have anymore than 250hp (and thats giving him a HUGE benefit of the doubt, considering MOST 350's from 1975-1985 barely hit 200HP with the exception of a few "performance" oriented ones).

So... hes probably got 20-30HP more, with an extra 200 pounds (as previously mentioned). To me, that matchup right there sounds pretty close. The biggest factor is his gearing. He could have anything from a 2.41 open or posi rear to a 3.73 open or posi rear. If he has 3.73s you might be in trouble, but if he has 2.41s, 2.73s, or even 3.08s I think you'll take him. Also, you didn't mention what transmission he has...if its a 4-speed that will give him another advantage...
