1992 RS with some mods. How Fast?
Hello everyone, I'm new to the site. I've owned several Camaros, but this will be my first 3rd gen. I have a 1994 Camaro Z28 convertible auto that's msotly stock and I have a 1997 Camaro V6 with some bells and whistles to put it into the 14.3@98mph mark. I built the V6 to do something somewhat unique, and it definitely got attention at the track, especially when I knocked down modular motor mustangs all night long.
Anyway, I just picked up a '92 Camaro RS 25th anniversary edition with T-tops... Stock came with a 305 motor and a 5speed transmission.
It comes with some mods. One of them is an LT1/LT4 motor, and another is a T56... Heads are fully ported and polished by Big Al's toybox, camshaft is 236/242* .555/.576 lift 112LSA, electric water pump, underdrive pulleys, double roller timing chain, Aluminum flywheel, Spec stg. 3 cable clutch, built T56 swap, 3.73:1 gears, full adjustable drag suspension, torque arm relocation from trans to the subframe, SFCs, 255/50R16 tires and weight loss to about 3,000 pounds. also it's tuned.
The car runs great and pulls with no misfires, engine was jus rebuilt, and the car was never raced. I know the LT4 with the GM hotcam claims 425+ horsepower, so I'd guess this setup to be near the 500 mark. I'd guess I'll be in the 12s somewhere.
Anyone have any guesses as to ET and horsepower? Think I should be able to knock down some Mustang Cobra GT500s and some c6 vettes at the track?

Re: 1992 RS with some mods. How Fast?
should be making around 400rwhp or more depending on how good the heads and tune are.
if it has full drag suspension and is 3000#, i would say you should be running mid to low 11's at least if its dialed in on a decent sized slick and a rearend that could take it. on street tires and 10 bolt it could be anywhere from mid 12's or slower. just depends on tire spin.

Will do with the vids! Tire wise, for race day I am probably going to run some 15" steel wheels I have laying around with 225/60R15 tires up front and some M/T radials, something like 275/60R15 out back. On the streets I'm keeping my stock RS 16x8 wheels with 255/50R16 tires all around. On the track I'll be running open headers, on street the car has a 3" Y pipe back exhaust which exits through a single tailpipe. I may upgrade it to a 3.25 or a 3.5 but I don't know which one I'll do yet. The guy who had it before me wanted it to be a sleeper. Definitely doesn't look like an 11 second car
