09' City Jetta
Re: 09' City Jetta
Well I walked a 1.8 turbo jetta last year with my Mazda, and in all fairness my Mazda is a second or more faster than an older 305 and about as fast as a newer TPI 305 manual/TPI 350 auto.
I would put my money on the VW if it's the turbo but there are any number of lesser motors it could be packing.

Re: 09' City Jetta
i have a '89 305 tpi and had a '02 GTi 1.8t tuned a little bit and as my camaro sits, the GTI would spank it fairly easy. I beat older 5.0 gt's at the track all day in the GTI. but also my iroc is running rough atm.
Re: 09' City Jetta
If the new series is similar to the old then there will be many possible engines in the car. An N/A version of the turbo for example. I dont know if the 2.0 is a larger version of the 1.8 or something new but it's a fair bet that the N/A base motoe will be pretty slow.
There is also likely a V6 version and a diesel/turbo diesel variant.

I know they could come with a stock turbo, I just meant that his was a stock non-turbo Jetta and its a 4 cyl but I'm not sure which size.
