ok...so this kid in my digital photo class says his 5.9 magnum dodge ram can outrun my bird..
his truck is completely stock..
my GTA has:
headers
exhaust
tuned chip
msd cap and rotor and wires
k&n filter

so yeah...what do u guys think??

is his 4wd? we have a 4.7 magnum durango and the 5.9 mag's arent much powerfuler. anyhow i defintly think you got him from a dig and a roll.

 

Seriously, dodge rams have to be some of the slowest trucks. I know two people that have them one is Ext. cab the other reg cab, both long boxes with the 5.9, both guys complain about how their trucks can hardly get out of their own way.

No problem, he's prolly just messing with you to **** you off.

What do I think? I think you should request that he pays for the gas you're wasting on this race.

If you lose think about buying a mountain bike or something.

You're going to putting hurting on that poor truck.

 

That wont even be a race. I think he is just messing with you or he has never been in a good running car. IMO.

I've raced my friend in his 95' Ram Reg cab, short box 318/5 speed in my DD (96 Caprice w/ the 4.3L V8 (L99) Runs right next to him for the most part. (vid is on youtube) Not fast trucks at all.... Our 04' HEMI 4x4, ext cab is a different story. LOADS of torque!
O also, I've raced the same truck(95 Dodge) in my Camaro when it had the L03/Auto and he was right beside me until 80mph... You will make him feel really really bad! lmao Take a vid!

it was quick for a truck.

 

Considering the stock 5.9 puts out 250 hp and 345 ft lbs of torque
and a stock 350 puts out 225-245 hp and 350 ft lbs of torque
The weight difference alone would let u win STOCK...
You probably weigh at least 700 lbs less then him... i dont care how many wheels hes using you will win

Ha, ha ha, I was coming home the other night and had some guy riding my tail after the light turned green. So, i got on it and jumped up about five or six car spaces. Ok, get to the next light and it was a dakota truck 5.9. Sounded like it had mods. So, we both went at it. It was over by the end of my first gear. LOL. Your car is a lot faster. u will spank him... i was in my 85 z28 with 305 tpi and my buddy had the dakota with the 5.9 he had intake exhaust chipped lowered flame job all types of goofy stuff and he couldnt keep up with me stock... it cost him a whole weeks paycheck.. we worked together and argued over who would win all day one day then bet that weeks paycheck on it i felt bad for him and gave him 50 bucks to pay for gas to get to work and back... u will win

GTA easy my brother has the 5.9 R/T Durango which ran 15.9 at the track with headers/full exhaust, programmer, and K&N CAI

 

I have a Dodge with a 5.9 in it, and it's slow as hell, it's got 4.11's in it, and is geared only for low end power, doesn't accelerate for beans. It is a 78 with a 4spd though.

 

a buddy of mine with a V8 cherokee super charged ran a 13.1 on 6psi of boost. Im pretty sure its a 4.7 in those. With that said it beat my buddy's ls1 camaro...he was pissed but it was super funny. He also launched in 4wd and produced 1.5(?) or 1.6 60 foot times...

 

Those 4.7's can put out some power with a supercharger on them. I was looking at supercharging my GF's 99 Grand Cherokee. I saw a couple pushing 500+ hp at 10-12psi. They could sit and do 4 wheel burnouts with ease. We decided to just sell it and buy her an Subaru WRX STI instead though. Gonna have to do some work to my camaro or she'll have a faster car than me soon.

 

Some guy in a 5.9 dodge Dakota 2wd tried to race me one night.....At the next light his buddy was just laughing and driver was all asking what do you have in that thing?I told him it was just a 5.7.heavy and slow.its made for a truck.i would put money on it if i were you.
