U mm not a chance he will win unless this is your first time driving a manual. You have him at every angle. You "should" be making at least 200hp more than him. Make sure your tires hook off the line there's no need to push it against this kid. Its silly a question to even ask.

Just curious why you have vacuum secondary's your motor mated with a T-5. I have always found that mechanical secondary's perform much better with manual transmissions especially on build motors.

Also how is your T-5 holding up. Im doing some head work next season and I wasn't sure these things could handle much more than 350-400ftlbs of tq without breaking down. Even though the stock limit is rated at 300ft/lbs.

Th vacuum secondary was free so... the tranny is holding good so far other than the clutch burning out... but that was with stock ported heads and a smaller cam so ill see how it holds up to what I have now... it only has to last me another year or so I'm planning next winter to do either an ls swap or a 383 t56 combo... most likely the 383 cause I'm not that knowledgable yet I feel way more comfortable with old sbc's....

Carb will kill, even bone stock, carb swap alone will murder the TPI.

My BONE STOCK 150xxx mile L98 with a carb conversion and headers went 13.87 at 101.xx MPH.

Wow! Thats a huge improvement in time over the TPI. What manifold and carb combo did you have? And what gears? Stick or auto? I may have to consider this for my brother IROC-Z that he just wants to throw a mild 350 in for now.

I don't get it. If your cousin owned both vehicles, shouldn't he know which car is faster??

Re: 85 iroc carb 350 vs 87 iroc stock tpi

he owned both when mine had stock ported heads and a lunati 00016 cam which is somewhere around 240 duration and .448 of lift I "I could be off on those numbers" swapped the heads and cam to the rhs pro action heads and comp magnum 292 which is 292 duration and .501 lift... that and the car wasn't tuned right when I got it from him it sounded and looked nice but it was running WAY too rich and the idle was all screwed up. But I think the biggest factor in him thinking his car is faster is just mental cause we lived 8 blocks away from eachother ou whole life and the original owner of his iroc lived right in between us and my cousin dated the owners daughter I was friends with the owners son so we had both been around the car a lot we both thought that camaro was the fastest car in the world growin up and I don't think he wants to come back to reality and admit its just a stock camaro I mean the car is mint in every way he just has it all built up in his head that he could smoke me...he got that car for about the best deal I've ever seen to the owner knew we both wanted it really bad and he was getting ready to move out of state and was selling his cars he called both of us a few days before he moved and said the first one t get here with a 1000 bucks can have it.. obviously he beat me.

Was with the Performer RPM knock off professional products and a holley 750(way too big or a stock L98), Stock T5 trans and a 4.10 gear, launched like a baby with only a 1.87 60 foot in fear the rear would break(it did on the next attempt at a pass).
