1991 Trans Am vs 2007 STi **VID**

Brother's 91 TA with a H/C 350, holley 750 carb, T56, and 4.10's vs a freinds 2007 STI with a cold air intake and pro tune. STI made 260 WHP on a mustang dyno. Heres the link to the vid.

Yes it is haha. Bought it off of him a few months back. The old motor grenaded 2 weeks after I got it, so me and my bro built a new engine. I'm still in the process of working out a few bugs and playing with the carb, but it seems to be running pretty good for now.

I don't see the result being all too much different. My car has 315 Drag radials, so it hooks.

Not too many places that have a nice low key stretch around here that you can actually race from a dig. Thats why we take it to the highway. We know the kid so I'm sure we could do a dig run at some point but as my brother said, we pulled pretty good on that STI rolling so even if he got a slight jump, we'd come reeling by him from a dig run.

again very good job... not putting you down... but the STI was staying 1-1/2 cars
from a dig it would have a decent lead.....

I love how people always think just because a car is AWD it will get out of the hole better. Believe me, I have had plenty of experience racing in the past, including having owned a 2006 wrx and a 2006 Evo. At the strip, neither the wrx or the evo could have touched the 60ft time of my Mustang or Trans am on drag radials... I'll see if we can set up a dig run sometime.

Re: 1991 Trans Am vs 2007 STi **VID**

It was only a 1 1/2 or so car lead because we started so high and my brother couldn't get any lower than 3rd gear. The cars got 4.10's so by the time he was maxed out in 4th that was all he was ahead, but his car would have just kept pulling the faster we got. I would bet it would even pull the STI in 5th gear as well. Subaru's are tough cars to launch too because they ussually bog so bad. It takes a skilled driver to launch one without bogging, and bogging kills them off a start. I get what your saying though and we'd def line up with the kid from a dig if we can find a good spot.
