This gets quite old as this race will never happen or we will never hear a result.... not to mention why is your first post in this section? Maybe introduce yourself first? I would have posted after I got my license... not before... In addition to all that you gave us very bland figures for your 350.. We need to know what kinds of heads it has, stock internals, cam, exhaust, gears? Do you have any idea how many variables there are? Those 350's could make 150 hp or they could make 500. who knows.... reply when you know more about your engine.

Theres nothing wrong with asking questions on here. But you asked a very vague question and gave little details. An outcome would be hard to predict without knowing a many details as possible.

Jeez, lighten up dude wtf is wrong w/you, I take it that you were never young once and didn't know better? There is something known as etiquitte, and obviously you have thrown that to the wind.
It may help to ask for some more info nicely instead of being rude about it....

Re: my camaro vs chevy truck (LOOK)

No thanks necessary, some people on here feel the need to bully and pick on guys who are less experienced or knowledgeable. Do Not let those kind of people discourage you in any way ever. You should probably slow down a bit though. Get some info on both vehicles, and a license before you jump in here locked and loaded.
I like your enthusiasm, just read, listen, and learn. This is a great site, w/ some of the best info on these cars that you'll find anywhere. The people on here are generally a good bunch, and will help you through any problems you may be having w/ your car . Welcome to TGO, enjoy your Camaro!

Are we going to start this again? I was stating a common fact that 99% of the street race questions asked on here are never followed through with. I was obviously young once and I don't feel I was that harsh on the kid. If people can't take that kind of talking then why go out in public? I was clearly supported and I'm the one who is the jerk? Is it b/c I posted first? Or b/c I don't agree with you on everything?(previous threads) I support the new member and being a fellow F-body enthusiast I knew a time when I didn't know all that much either... being a jerk right back to me shows your maturity just as much as mine. So regardless of that fact lets get on with this thread and not continue to bully. I guess I could have toned it down a bit, my apologies 86camaroirocz but there are a lot of other guys on here that are 100x worse than me. I'm not a jerk and I don't intend to be labeled one..

Re: my camaro vs chevy truck (LOOK)

Get some specs and we will be glad to give you an idea. Considering that old truck is a 68' that was before the smogger engines so that right there gives him the advantage.. I would assume you have a smogger 350 as they were very Very common and cheap. Not to mention made very little power. Post up some specs.

Re: my camaro vs chevy truck (LOOK)

Sorry J91, but Viper is right. Even if it does sound harsh (it was harsh). I'm 17 and I dont get my licence till October and I don't ask those types of Qs. Mine are mainly about fixing up my car and restoring it so that when I get my licence, the car is in as good shape as possible. I'm not going to be doing any stupid street racing (at least not yet). This site is not face book. It is mostly to help those who need help with their third gens, but it IS ALSO about community. And 86camaroirocz, dont worry bro, they'll warm up to you. Just try to act like an adult, or at least act smarter than you are (it helped me).

Agreed, I joined this site just before I turned 16 and I didn't know crap about cars when I joined. I am now a little over 17 and have been wrenching on my car and replacing parts and doing regular maintenence all by myself and I haven't been spending all day doing those repairs either lol.

It is perfectly fine to join young (hello, me), just be aware that you are around your elders on this site and you dont want to gain the rep. as being the rookie or the idiot (gives us other youngsters a bad name too). Just be mature. Not exploding in response your rebuke is already a good indicator that you have respect for others and are most likey mature enough to join this site.

Lookin’ like you have the edge. With that engine, those upgrades, and those rear end gears. It looks like "theoretically' you would win.

You can hardly tell.... With smogger heads you wouldn't go anywhere... those late 60's engines are not to be taken lightly....

Well yah. Obviously We know next to nothing about his opponent. Some more info on his car would help. I am too invested into this to just leave it alone. HAY MAN! Give a dog a bone and get some info on his truck! It was a truck right?

Re: my camaro vs chevy truck (LOOK)

Get some info on the truck, I doubt at this point if it has an original motor, if so it's been rebuilt, more than likely it's at least been replaced w/ something like one of those old GM Targetmaster 350 crate motors or something from a later 70-80's vehicle. Either way as the year goes up the power will hopefully go down???
You never know though, someone may have done that thing up w/ a good rebuild and good parts?????

Here's another jerk chiming in.... Get some driving time in before you even start thinking about doing any sort of racing. Chit happens and when it does, it's good to know how to handle things. New driver plus racing = banged up car or worse.

You do realize this form is called THEORETICAL and street racing. I think this one would fall under theoretical. Did I mention this was all theoretical?

Re: my camaro vs chevy truck (LOOK)

Well here's some of the mods I found: Headers (can't really tell the brand there old and starting to rust ill be getting new ones anyways) alum. High rise intake manifold. Moroso valve covers. Holly 650 four barrel carb. a mild cam. Edelbrock air cleaner. She has a aftermarket racing clutch. I am sure I am forgetting some stuff but thas all off the top of my mind. In a week or so we are pulling the motor to go through it then we will know most every thing about it. I am buying a FLEXALIGHT electric fan for it. And some heads if it don't already have aftermarket ones on it. I will update when we find out more. Also forgot this one cherry bomb vortex exh.
