1985 2.8L slightly modded VS stock 1991 3.1L ... the winner is?
I have a 1985 SC with a 2.8L with the mods listed in my signature (assume I have the Dynomax by the time I race him)
He has a 1991 RS with a 3.1L which is stock...
We're both new to driving our cars, both automatic.
Assuming both our cars are in tip top running condition (which we plan them on being in)... who's got the advantage... who can you see winning by how much? What would the 1/4 mile times be for the cars?
Any other insights into the race you people can forsee?

1985 Camaro SC - 2.8L, auto.
Mods:
Removed air baffles, mandrel bent cat-back pipes (but stock replacment muffler, Dynomax Turbo is on the way)
Maintenance since I bought it:
Bosch Platinum Plugs, wires, cap + rotor, Radiator, Water Pump, PCV, fluids and filters

I would say that you have the advantage. Mainly because your car is now breathing better because of the removed baffles and because of the intermediate pipes. Get the performance muffler though..It'll help too..
I have a 3.4 in addition to my 89 RS, and the main problem with it was it getting enough air..When I changed the exhaust and the Air Box, I saw a HUGE difference...As far as times, I'm not very good with that...but i will say you will win by about 2 cars

Well, the 3.1L has 140hp stock. The MFI 2.8 has 135hp stock. Your mods will probably free up an additional 15hp over stock, and since your car is probably lighter, you will have the advantage.
