89 350 modded vs 95 LT1 stock

89 350 modded vs 95 LT1 stock

I have a 89 350 TPI motor with a ZZ9 cam and TPIS level 5 chip with edelbrock 6085 heads and 1.5 RR. Also I have a underdrive pullies, 2000 stall convertor with a lockup switch, Edelbrock TES 15/8 headers with a custom dual exhaust (NOT A TRUE DUAL EXHAUST) and ported plenum.
Now I still have the stock intake, yea I know it holds me back so does lack of money.
I took it to the track once and got one pass done before the rain came and haven't gone back. The time was 14.102 @ 97.00 and 60' time was 2.02. This was my first time too plus I found out later that I had a bad vacuum leak and timing was at 0*!
My 89 350 is now advanced 8* and vacuum leak is FIXED. It pulls to 5200 when shifting (auto) and will pull hard at 130+. And the other bad thing is I have 2.77 gears, and I know get rid of them too just not now.

The 95 LT1 does the 1/4mi at 14.08 and that is all I know but he does spin in all of 1st gear and then in 2nd. And has a exhaust mod maybe flowmasters.

Any ideas of who would win in a street race and then at the 1/4 mile track?

It would be actually really close because a LT-1 does run low 14's stock. But i actually think you would take him with all your mods

I have an 89 IROC 350 car with a stock cam, stock intake (plenum,runners,base),Performance Resource Chip, all free mods, stock stall speed, 2.77 gears, Flowmaster muffler, K&Ns and an Airfoil. My best track time is a 14.37 @ 95.3 MPH. I beat most of the stock LT1 Auto cars and some 6 speeds that I run against. With the mods that you have done you should not have a problem beating your friend.

A stock 89 350 IROC with 2.77's(around 14.5) is only about .3-.5 slower in the 1/4 then a stock 95 LT1 F-body depending on gears(2.73 or 3.23)With your mods,you should be atleast the mid 13's.I came up on an auto LT1 T/A with Borla's that wanted to play one night,and he was so far behind me he was in another Zip code
