Two races, LONG

Crusing up to my ex's place Saturday evenin', I leave a light at 1/2 throttle and bark second, all of a sudden I hear this mean ROAR and a 4th gen Z flys past me. He slows down for me to catch up about 50 yards ahead. We get side by side, crusing in high gear, I hear him nail it and kick down into third, so I hit it too, we ran from 45-50 up to 90-100 and I only gained a fender! When we got to the next light he rolled down his window and said "HOLY ****! Whatcha got in that thing??!". I just smiled and said "A factory crate motor, bone stock". Then I made a right and got sideways (dumbass that I am).

Second race: I was crusing home this morning and I pulled up to a light (second car in line) and theres this SWEET blacked out Nova cammin' in the lane next to me. I threw him a rev and he looked over.
HIM: "Whatcha runnin' "
ME: "just a crate motor"
HIM: "how much horsepower?"
ME: "320, maybe" (I'm probably closer to 300 at the crank)
HIM: "wait, you've got no interior! you've got some fire under there, huh?"
ME: "Wanna find out?"
We caught the next light.
ME: "so, you wanna run 'em? I've got no traction"
HIM: "OK"

He revs it up when the crosslight turns yellow. I'm practically shakin' thinkin' i'm gonna get my *** handed to me.

I can't stall it up because I'll smoke 'em.
Light turns green and I ease into it, he spins for a second so I nail it, I hooked just before he did and we're side by side, He shifts, I run it up to 4800 and hit second, we both spun a little, half way through second I hear him shift and I gain a fender. I hit third and he's still with me! He shifts again (and chirps the tires) and I gain another foot!

I ran up to 100-110 and let out.

Next light:
HIM: DAMN! you're pretty quick! Good run!" ME: yeah, thanks! You runing a stick? <makes shifting motion>"
HIM: "yeah, a five speed"
ME: "Cool, I've got a TH350"

A little somke comes between us:
HIM: "is that you or me smoking?"
ME: "probably me." Light turns green and I cruise away.

I think I've got a bad valve seal, I smoke a little after I run it hard, but it clears up after a few seconds.

Hey dont get upset man, like the bald guy from the movie says "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile". Good for you if you beat an LS-1 (or was it an LT-1) Z with no traction. Both these cars make approx. the same power as you. If you want to win by 2 blocks line up with a Civic and smoke him.
