LS1 after LS1 ran mid 14's here in Texas

I went to the track this friday with a buddy to test out his Chevelle and I saw 4 ls1'a run Mid 14's . There was one that ran a low 14 but not one went into the 13's. Could it have been the track? Just curious. I am going to take my car to the track this coming Friday to see what it run .

not everyone one runs what the cars can optimally run. crappy driving, not knowing how to shift or launch all have affects. i think a lot of people would be surprised if they actually took their "13 second" cars to the track and saw what they ran. a lot of people find the best runs done by a car similar to theirs and post it as theirs.

well be a little more specific as to which town in TX yer talking about.. If the track's conditons are bad... and the surface really ****ty. that would make some sense. but my friends 99Z ran 13.6@103 stock.. 13.4@105 with a cut-out.. I've seen a 6spd LS1 w/a cut-out, K&N, and 3.73's run a 12.6@113.. the LS1 really likes to breath.. this is all at HRP by the way.. HRP = Houston Raceway Park.

perhaps the track you were at is at a bit of elevation, also the type of day could make a difference, if the day was hot, a low pressure system was moving overhead etc can alter the air density at the track and effect performance. Up here in Canada it's more of an issue than down in texas though I think.
