80 Cobra vs 89 IROC
Well, it's not as simple as this...my IROC is already running 13.30 (zz4 motor & stock tpi w/2.73 gears and various other mods) and the Cobra has just gotten a 430 hp motor (I am guessing about 430 cuz the guys who built it said 400-450 hp and just told my buddy over and over again "you just don't know what your getting!!! It's gonna be killer!!!) So anyway, I am guessing he is somewhere around 100 hp more than me because the stock tpi limits to like 320 hp....that and he has 3.55 gears and I have 2.73 gears!!! I want an n/a way (and no miniram or superram) to run w/him. It is running VERY strong. I have 3.73 gears in my room ready to be installed as well as I am thinking about the siamesed runners from slp, edelbrock base, and porting them both w/the plenum. I figure that and the gears might run me around a 12.7 or so. I also want to do 52mm tb and ram air as well...but I want to see what else yall think I can/should do, considering the tpi may be choking the motor. I also would like to keep my chip I have. It is custom burned and I don't wanna have it done again! Other mods include headers, hi flow cat, flowmaster, k&n airfilter, 24# fuel injectors, afpr and a few other little things (tranny rebuilt w/1850 stall, billet servo and shift kit) and I also have drag radials. Lemme know what yall think!

Sorry for sounding stupid but what is an 1980 Cobra. I've heard of a 93 and up Cobra or old Cobra from 60's.

yeah...my buddy's '80 Cobra is a snake of a different skin - it now has a 331 cid motor and and the back end looks like a '93 up mustang. It's got a BEAUTIFUL paint job and wheels. The interior has left something to be desired, but it's got a roll cage as well. Spoiled punk!!!! He's a great guy though. I just wanna beat him at the track!!!
tb might help, take off the cat, port the intake, heads, and plenum. maybe a higher lift cam? not sure what those zz4 motors have besides aluminum heads but they sure are quick! Youll give him a run for his money if you can get in the 12s.
