87 z28 vs. 2001 silverado
ive been challenging this friend of mine who has a 2001 silverado to a race, im sure it would be a good race, but would it be one i could win? he claims hes got a 350 in it, and its lowered two and a half inches on twenties. other then flows i think its pretty much stock. you can check out the sig for the stuff on my car, while i havent taken it to the tracks ive beaten a few 5.0 gt's and a friends 86 iroc, not to mention a bunch of rs camaros.

2001 silverados dont come with 350's...youre friend probably has the 5.3L option. depending on the size of his truck (ext. cab, 4X4, longbed, ect.) Id say he has a good chance. I see you got the short end of the stick with the LG4...I didnt think those were still around in '87.
Oh well...good luck

Yeah it will be close........... but get some cheap TPI heads and port and polish the hell out of em, and then throw the LT4 cam (just because it is $160) in and youll be SO MUCH FASTER.
my dad has a 2000 Z71. it is the sweetest truck around. it is all black, dual 4 inch pipes out the back, leather interior, 3.73 posi. it has the 5.3 and i can say from experience that he will totally jack you off the line and since you have an lG4 he will probably smoke you top end too. i think the 5.3s have 270 horse. i can however blow his doors off. but it is still a sweet truck.
