Had a little fun with an Impala today
I usually try not to get into street battles, especially with the unpredictable traffic around here, but it was a perfect opportunity to try the new rod/hanger combo.
I was headed out to the boneyards to look for wheels. On the way, one of those full-sized (95-96?) Impalas came whipping out of a sidestreet on my left and got up to speed in the turn median, then cut off the guy I just passed so he could get into the left lane. The car looked modded, it was lowered, had a mean sounding exhaust and bigger wheels. Speed limit was 45, I was doing 55 and he decided to get right up on my bumper (which I hate). So, I punched it straight to the floor, engine pulled right up to about 5800 in 2nd, hit 3rd and by then I put almost two carlengths on him. Gave him the thumbs up after I slowed down to turn left onto the expressway, didn't have time to pull over and talk though.
Kinda surprised me, I figured he may have had a supercharger setup like i've seen most other Impalas with. Guess i'll chalk that one up, right next to the BMW 3.28is.
