it all depends on the cars setup, but in most all cases the 350 will be fast obviously as it has 45 more cubes and intern more power.

There are so many different engine/HP/tranny combos, lemme make some generalizations from the 3 million road tests I have accumulated All times are for 0-60.

LG4 305: 8.7-9.0 5 speed, 9.3-9.8 auto
LO3 305: 7.4-7.9 5 speed, no times for auto
LB9 305: As low as 6.5-7.0 for 5 speed coupes with G92, never saw a coupe (even auto) over 8 flat, as high as 8.1 for automatic verts ('88 IROC 305 TPI)

L98 350: Range from 5.8 ('90 IROC) to 7.4 ('87 GTA) depending on year, equipment, etc.

But there sure as hell is not a FOUR SECOND difference between a 305 TPI and a 350...hell, there is barely 4 seconds between an LG4 and an L98!!

11 sec. my @ss

compare apples to apples. TPI to TPI, Carb to Carb. The difference is little between L98 and LB9 up to 60. Its from 60 on up that the L98 cars will smoke a LB9.

I don't know where you found 11 sec... the difference between 350 and 305 can be very small and very big depending... the 305 TPI is almost as fast as the 350 probably a .5 sec difference.

Just to give you an idea though, my LG4 does it in 7.5 and thats just with some cheap Hp fixes and intake + carb... most TPI's and the such do it in less than 6.5.

My little 1988 5.0 LO3 (170 HP) with the automatic did 0 to 60 in 8 flat and that was stock. Maybe we did a really bad job of timing ?

Stopwatched mine a while back with a freind in the car, did it in mid 9s

lol thats about the ONLY 9's this'll run!

My 1/8 mile times were all high 10s at around 65 MPH so that makes sense, my best being being a wussy 10.75@64.77 mph. Best time i got but not the best MPH, which was 65.15.

If only those times were for the 1/4 not the 1/8!

88IROCZJG,

Actually, 8 flat is almost exact probably for a TBI/auto, bone stock...as the 2 5 speed tests I have were 7.4 and 7.9 ('88 SC and '91 RS).
