T/A on DeLorean!!!!
A few Scientists have also teleported music at faster then light speeds. I don't remember the exact experiment, but it was on NOVA. They shot some particles at a closed box or something and it reapeered on the other side instantly, faster then light. Then they played the music on the other end, it lost some sound quality, but was still equal to about AM radio. It was a Moztart piece.
I almost bought an 81 DeLorean just a few weeks ago!! The lady wanted $11,000 for it, she couldn't get into it anymore. She was the original owner, it had 37k on it. Damn, stupid bank wouldn't lend me the money
I drove it around town and on the freeway, it ran great! A little underpowered, actually it felt like my 90 olds with a 3.1V6.

This thread is actually pretty interesting. Yeah, John Delorean was the one who designed the GTO. And I think that John Delorean was involved in a sting by the FBI for some kind of drug thing. They thought he was involved in selling drugs, but he turned out to be innocent I think.
Successful Teleportation of laser light

news from the forums (thanks jjoelc):

"there is some pretty exciting news in the world today! (Thanks Bullfrog!) I'm sure that there are a few Star Trek Fans reading this... And even if you are not a fan, I bet you think it would be really cool to be able to just "beam down" to someplace without the hassle of "real" travel.
Well, scientists have made a landmark first successful teleportation. By successful, I mean repeatable. Don't break the lease on your car just yet though. What has been successfully teleported was a laser beam. Scientists are estimating the first successful teleportation of solid matter (one whole atom of it, at any rate) within the next 5-7 years. Though the process is theoretically identical to trensport a human, the complexity involved is simply mind-boggling. As humans we have somewhere on the order of several ZILLION atoms. That's a one with 27 zeros after it. You see the problem I'm sure... " -jjoelc

Well since everyone seems Interested in John Z Delorian then here's his current web site:
http://www.deloreantime.com/
Apparently if you buy one of his watches you'll be given priority on his new car, if he ever makes another one that is.

My mom worked as a nurse/nanny for the Schottenstein family in Columbus OH from 84-87. Someone in the family (I believe the grandfather) had bought the remaining new Delorean's and the service part inventory when Delorean went under. She said she was offered the chance to buy one cheap back then and thought about buying one to give me when I turned 16....but she didn't. They had mentioned that they're were some that were gold and some that were painted from the factory. But they didn't have many other details.

I've often thought of a v8 conversion delorean and a custom suspension/wheels, and polishing the body. That would be super kewl. I'd have to wear shades to drive it.

Hey guys, heres a load of stuff on the Delorean car
http://www.entermyworld.com/ihome.html
BTW i love that car, yes its slow, but sometimes looks are more important. Lets be honest, if it wasnt for Back to the Future i dont think to many people would care for the car. With that, if i ever had a Delorean car, id make sure its replicated to look exactly like the Back to the Future car. Simply awesome!
Would i trade in my GTA for a Delorean? No. Why? My car has looks and power

at the annual riverfest here in evansville, hosted by Dennis Cage, I saw a 4x4 delorean. It was on a 70's blazer frame. I didn't have my camera and I was bumbed that I couldn't get a snap shot.
It was very well done. The dude invested all kinds of money in it and it even had a rack of lights on top...you know...the smilies.
It was cool.

The only thing I remember about the delorean's engine was that it sounded exactly like the X-Wing from star wars.... hmmmmm...

So? I just found this. This is great, I actually know Mr. Delorean, He and my parents were friends in the local hunt club ( fox hunting that is). my parents passed some years ago but I bet I could still get in touch with Mr. D if I tried. Perhaps I could get him to post on this board ?? That would be cool and would clear up alot of the misinformation about his car that has been posted on this thread.
B.T.W. the back to the future car, If you watch the movie, sounds just like a big block chevy at the local dragstrip.
