my RS vs. 65 fastback ?
Ok, unless I can really **** this kid off, this race will never happen, but I've been trying to pressure him into racing. He has a 65 mustang with the 289, a 4bbl 650 carb, and automatic trans. Looks like a restoration, not a hotrod. I have a 92 RS auto and my best time at the track is a 15.7@87 mph. See my car in "readers rides". I believe the mustang is faster, but I think it would be worth it to get him to race me anyway. Am I right in my thinking that he will smoke me? Anyboby know stock times for his car? Thanks- Randy

sounds like I might have a chance afterall. He told me he refuses to street race his car, but promised that he will take it to the track with me in the spring. That can't work out better- seeing as how by then I will have a new trans and 2000 stall convertor. Thanks for the times -Randy

it's weird how today's cars "feel" so much lighter but they are actually heavier then the older ones. You get out of a 60's musclecar and you get into even a thirdgen and you'd swear the newer car is half a ton lighter. I bet those 60's 'stangs weren't so bad on gas, considering the "light car-small engine" concept. What happened!?!?
