'91 RS vs. '85 944

My Dad has a stock manual trans. 944 Porsche do you think it would beat my lightly modified auto trans. 91 RS? My signature lists everything I've done to it so far.

Tough call neither are all that fast. I would give the edge to the 944

Re: '91 RS vs. '85 944

Is the 944 turboed or no? You should beat an NA by a bit, but if it's turbo it'll leave you in the dust. My old turbo z31 300zx beat my friend's 944t by a little over a carlength with only a little bump in boost. Both of those cars would annihilate an L03 unless it had some serious work done to it. Enough can never be said for power to weight ratio.

EDIT: Also, yes, test the hypothesis! haha

I think your biggest downfall will be your 2.73 rear and auto trans after you shift into second I think he will pull on you.

Nope, no turbo. I feel like I could take him in the straightaways but he might have a bit of an edge if we were to race on a track with lots of turns

Re: '91 RS vs. '85 944

I have a stock 91 tpi 305 auto camaro with just a cutout. I out ran my friends manual 91 944 with headers, full exhaust, and a tune. I had him by a quarter panel. Don't even try to race on a track. Those 944's are quick cars that handle great.
