Has anyone used any of these apps. I'm assuming the are about as accurate an un-calibrated g tech pro. I downloaded one this weekend. It was free. Kinda fun to play with but a little glitchy and awkward to use and try to drive and shift. Anyway it gives loads of results and info but here are the important things. It claims (not sure i believe it) I am putting down 202 rear wheel horsepower, and ran 14.74 1/4 mile.

Here are a list of my mods

Fram air hog air filters in stock location.
Throttle body air foil
March underdrive pulleys
BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator set to 48 lbs
Bosch 3 19lb fuel injectors
Slp loudmouth exhaust taken off 02 ss
Cat removed

Anyone else tired these apps?

Re: iPhone dyno apps results
I have recently downloaded the Virtual Dyno app for 4 bucks. Its fun to play with, but not sure how accurate it is. Its kinda hard to use, you have to set up a baseline on your car first, from beginning to end, and then you can "mod" your baseline and see the difference against your baseline. I look at the software as a toy to play with. Im sure it has some merit on accuracy, but I wouldn't expect it to be a replacement for a real dyno.

I have dynolicious. Haven't made a full pass and when I did it glitched. It was $8. Benc1 what's the name of that app?

Pocketdyno. It's glitchy. But I think if I could figure a way to mount the iPhone to the car it would do better.

Padtab.com they have mounts for 20.00 it's how I mounted my ipad to my dash. I have pictures in the interior thread, one in the "wow" thread and another thread I made.

I will check out that app.

Re: iPhone dyno apps results
I've not heard of accurate results from the iphone apps - seems that the accelerometers in the apple are no where near as accurate as formal testing equipment - expensive or otherwise.

One online magazine had done a brake swap on a thirdgen and used a iphone app for the data logging portion - so inaccurate it was funny. Over 135ft to stop from 60 with a 13" 4 piston kit (per the iphone) - should be in the 110ft or better range.

Re: iPhone dyno apps results
I wouldnt rely on a phone app for dyno/hp accuracy..regardless of it being a iphone or other brand. With my torque pro app for samsung phones my car dynoed 370whp and the app said 340whp. When I made my 13.4s pass the app read a 13.8. They get you in the ball park but I wouldnt put much faith into their recordings of power. For everything else the app does for me is 100% though.

Re: iPhone dyno apps results
This just occurred to me:

Accelerometer based testing equipment (the iPhone app as an example) is always going to be slightly off from a time to distance based one (like a true 1/4 mile) due to inaccuracy of the unit and also the software involved. I'm not saying that a $25k unit that a magazine may use in testing is way off, just that it will never be perfect. I'm referring to the time, not the mph since they use an average over the last few feet at a 1/4 mile. If it's within a tenth and a mph or two off, that would be close enough for most enthusiasts...

I used dynolicious and trapped at 84 in the 1/8 and it says I have 330 flywheel hp it's pretty close. Still can't get pocketdyno to work.
