Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
My best friend just so happend to buy a very nice condition silver Srt-10 Ram single cab shortbox. We picked it up today and had a nice hr long drive back home in it.
Now we always have classic debates on racing eachother in the past and have raced eachother..I mostly win so far vs his quick honda cars.he also works at a ford stealership and Ive tested my car against some of the new ford lines.Hes driven my car alot too and is a good driver. So here begs the question as we were riding along in the truck on the way home of..who would win right now.I think the truck is damn quick from sitting in the passenger seat as hes getting used to it making pulls.
He feels my car is more violent and should beat it.I dont think Ill beat it till the upper mph of a race if he hooks it right. The truck is 100% stock with only 60k on it.My mods are in my sig.Its only a matter of time for us to line up on many occasions to come fooling around on the streets and Ill have vids of that dont worry..this truck will be around for awhile lol.Just want to see what some of you think the outcome might be.Vipers are no easy feat...but for a truck..its got *****.Im taking it for a spin tonight when hes done work so I can gauge what im up against.

True..I personally have not gotten my car out of 13s yet on paper.Everytime I try..something happens, last track day it literally rained before I started making my pass and did 13.4 with horrible 60 ft.Im hating my 3.27 gear now that my tune is spot on.

all i can think of is why? i wonder how much gas you used driving that thing like that, it doesn't even sound mean when he started it, my only question is what can it haul in the back?

Your car with a 5.3 would walk that tank. A 6.0? Not even a question.

Re: Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
Its really quiet truck. The exhaust when I looked at it is super restrictive, same with the intake. We plan on making it respectable toy truck. Its was a really cheap price and good shape and my friend always into mopars.Closest thing to a viper he could get.
Its not bad on gas if you can really keep your foot out of it.Got about 21mpg..but once we started playing around...that 1/4 tanks was gone.Hauling..it probably wont be used to haul much, might get a open trailer to tow my car or his integra for track days.Hes 23..it will keep him happy for now lol.
My car as it sits might not fair well with whats left of my tires and my slipping ls7 clutch and thats what hes banking on to beat me on the street from a dig.He knows i cant launch hard or shift hard

Re: Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
add that srt 10 to my kill list.went from a 2nd gear roll and the torque of that truck ahead of me by a fender for maybe 1 second or 2 and then got yanked.my friend i hit third he just let off..no point wasting gas trying to keep up lol.I want to try again this time from a dig and get it on video.it sure sounds cool when we lined up ..windows down and speed matched 2nd gear.

My rear is 100% stock and has been holding up great. But keep in mind I do not launch it hard and shock the rear.I roll into things.I do want to put 3.73 gear in it to get some better pull from the car and the cam would benefit from it also

Out fooling around having fun one night. That truck does launch really good. Its fun picking on cars from a dig with it but it lacks topend power.

Re: Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
I've got a T56 and 3.70's in my 9-bolt... and honestly man I'd tell you to get some 3.90s or 4.10s or something. You could do 4.56's and drive it around just fine, but I feel like even 3.70 is way too low. The only limit is just like the 10-bolt, short gears being weaker. The 9-bolt gears are LITTLE bigger, but not enough to really notice. Problem is anything other than 3.70's you're going to have to get from australia.

Re: Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
Im surprised you feel its still low with 3.70's gear. I dont mind the 3.23's cruising and on the highway. Its just from a dig I find it bogs the motor more than id like.3.73's should help me just the right amount for my needs.

Re: Cammed Lq4 vs Ram Srt-10?
Once you're moving it's not as noticable, but that's just it. Even in autocross Im generally needing to do my rns in a range that's either too high in first gear or too low in second gear, and since I still barely ever use 6th gear, there's plenty of room to go shorter on the gearing.

I use 6th all the time lol but i do alot of highway driving.Never autocrossed the car so i cant comment if id like the gearing for that purpose.
