A Somewhat Scary Race
In my brother's 91 Olds Ciera 3300 against what I believe to be an rs camaro. 3.1 or 3.4? Anyway, there was two teenage girls in this car, and we both knew by the way they were easing forward- they were going to get on it. There was just one little problem. It had rained- alot. We both know about camaros and rainy days, so I said, "Do this right and you'll kill them." Right before they light changed I told him to go easy on the throttle. After once performing an on-water 5mph 5mph crawling burnout in an automatic 82 subaru, I was very worried what 160hp would do on water. Light changed, the Camaro was actually cutting through the water well, the Olds was ahead but SIDEWAYS. He totally beat them. A few minutes later, they cruise up beside us, pace us and then speed off. Weird, sad, but it at least involves an f-body.
Also I have a cousin of mine working on my Olds and I thought I'd ask if I could get a few estimates on hp/torque and performance. It is:
1981 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham
403 bored .030
-Blue Racer Wolverine camshaft with hydraulic lifters(if you need the numbers, I could get them)
-Edelbrock 4bbl(700cfm, I believe), stock intake
400 turbo
And I'm clueless about the gearing. There's a few more things going into it and I know that's not a lot of info, but if you can help out, I would appreciate it. If I was a mechanic, I'd be doing it myself, so keep that in mind. I hoping that I'll get to race some people that have some cool cars back in mid tn. 77 403/350 T/A, a Camaro(older one, being assembled, not sure about it), a 350/350 .030 68 RS/SS, and a deadly 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1. The Mach 1 Cobra Jet is being rebuildt and I don't know too much else about it except for its Holley 750 Double Pumper.
Well I should stop wasting space. Everyone take care. Merry Christmas and, if you're going to drink, please make sure you have a designated racer.
