1989 Formula WS6 vs. 2000 Z28

Yeah, I told my aunt, "Got to go take my car for a drive." I just can't ride in her Avalon too long without getting lonely of my car. But anyway took it out, and pulled up to this 2000 Z28, we didn't even look at each other or rev or engines and we both ended up racing. Pretty funny, but I came up on him slowly because I didn't want him to take off, and asked if he wanted to run, and we stopped at a green light even though it wasn't red (noone behind us) and we talked for a half a minute. But then when it turned red then green I floored it and literally just sat there and spun, of course he wasn't watching the light and after a couple of seconds of my tires squeeling, he took off, I just told him I wanted to see how far I was behind an LS1. Nice guy, but he had about 3 cars on me by 60. But at least I know you are in reach, I am 100% stock, except for a borla muffler, and I had a full tank of regular, NOT PREMIUM OR SUPER, gas. So I am somewhat proud of my car. I LOVE YOU FIREBIRD!!! LOL.

What kind of motor do you have. I would think he should have at least gotten 10 car lengths on you, that is if he has a 6spd.

First of all we only raced to 60, so it would have been hard for anycar to get 10 lengths on me. But, I have a 350 TBI. As I said before, I had a full tank of regular, but I had a trick up my sleeve. I had taken out my air cleaner temporarily, because I was just going literally 2 blocks down to my grandma's until I found some action.

Are you shure you have a 350 TBI???

Theres no such thing as a stock 350 TBI.

My bet is you have an L03. Or its not stock at all.

Sure about the engine. Everything I bought for the engine is for a 350 and it doesn't go like a 305. Plus it truly isn't stock. My car was a V6 originally and a previous owner did the engine swap. But I am always up to getting together. I actually don't live in Houston. I just put that becuase everyone knows where it is. Bu t I live down 290 in Fairfield. But we could meet up. Just write me or something.

BRO! Its not a formula or a WS6 either then! Formys didnt come with a V6. Nor did a V6 come with the WS6 RPO. I dont know what the previous owner told you but he was full of it. Either way, sounds like an interesting car. I'll shoot you an e-mail when the next houston GTG happens.

I know this is a wierd car dude. But check it out. 350, for sure. And it says WS-6 suspension on every wheel. And believe me, I'm not stupid, I know the wheels can be changed, but the dash says it, and it has front and rear sways, and really tight suspension. We will get together sometime though. If you are interested, there is an LS1 GTG that I am going to if you wanna meet. I of course am bringing my 3rd gen. But it is the 30th of this month at Hooters, shoot me an E-mail.

I've been waiting to find somebody from the Houston area on the boards. Are you guys part of any clubs for thirdgens or fbody's? I'm always up for a carmeet, let me know any details and I could drive into Houston for it.

You should have spoken up sooner. I just now got back from a car meeting. The Houston area LS1 meeting. It was loads of fun. But I will tell you if I here anymore.
