1998 Eclipse GSX vs 1991 Pontiac GTA

My friend wants too race me in his Eclipse GSX , which has all wheel drive, a turbo, 5-speed(he can drive good), and exhaust.
I have a 91 GTA 350 tpi with a flowmaster, my car has 70,000 miles. Who do you think will win?

That's gonna be a close race. If he can really drive I say he might just get you on this one. Then again he might not. I think you most likely have the weight advantage on this one. And if you can hook decently off the line you'll be able to take him in the long run.

I have a friend with a 98 GST with exhaust. If he's even got HALF a brain and done the FREE mods on his turbo and got a pop of valve, you'll get your doors blown off. My buddy runs high 13's @ 100 with just exhaust and a pop off valve.

If you can't get the GTA to hook then I think he will definately cook you. With the AWD he has the advantage of the line.

Make him race you over a longer distance. He'll definitely get you off the line, but your car should get wind in its sails on the upper end. Unless of course he's done some modding.

I'd agree and say that its a drivers race (as long as his car is stock). Do some intake work and you'll be much better off.

Its all in the launch. Learn to launch hard WITHOUT spinning. Not too easy with a L98, but once you get it you'll be able to beat a lot of cars on the street.
