My sonoma vs third gens

I have a 1991 GMC sonoma 4wd extended cab with a 4.3 in it.I am not sure if the motor has ever been rebuilt but I know the trans was at 150,000 (has 221,000)now.

I have been wondering how would my truck hang with some of U guy's (and gals)cars.I know 5.0 mustangs got me by alot. But I have beat alot of cars. And I have pulled everything of the line I have raced.Even a few 2001 grand am Gt's.

The only thing done to my truck is everything is fresh.Plugs, plug wires, distrubitor cap, rotor bug,K&N filter,Tranny fluid and filter,All that good stuff is fresh.I have a 700r4 tranny with what I believe to be around 3.73 gears.(It kind of quits at about 75 mph)

So how would it do?

It's probably in the low 16 second range...the 4 wheel drive is killing you though

I am probably never going to take it to the track.Just friday night stoplight sessions.Done it quite a few times.

As far being 4wd I love it dude.I have yet to be stuck and I get in some nasty muck to.My buddies and my dad's trucks where both stuck where my truck barely spun the tires.I have to see another stock truck 4-wheel like this one.

The only mods I am planing are a throttle body spacer, march power pullies and maybe an electric fan.I got beat by a freakin 3.4lt 5-speed camaro 2 weekends ago.Talk about disapointing. So And oh yeah single 2 1/2 inch exhaust going through the queitest flowmaster I can get.

I am taking about the weight of 4 wheel drive, like 800 lbs. Not very conducive to street racing.

I knew what you where talking about.I would much rather have a 4-wheel drive and a great daily driver than just a street racer.

85pj, my brother has a 1991 Blazer with the 4.3 and that truck is slow! It's great for towing, hauling, and occasional off roading, but it's not a race car. I see you beating some lo3s, LG4s, L69s, and the 2.8s, and 3.1s. The Lb9, L98, and LC2s are going to beat you. Sounds nice though, i would love to have a truck like that to tow my car to the track, but i can barely afford the Mustang, being 17 and all.
