2002 stang GT VS. Me
I was sitting at the conner of a street trying to make a U turn back to my friends house when I see This Bright Green new mustang gt go by me. He was going the speed limmit [55] and he passed me, Im not one to get passed by a mustang so I give chase. By the time he sees my tire smoke hes crusing and I tried to play catch up. I probably got with in 20 ft of his bumper when I was a 100 and didnt want to go into 5th. So I backed off Only to watch this guy slam on his brakes and skid through this intersection[ by then he musta been doing 115.] It was kinda scary cause only hours earlier a girl from my high school was killed at that same intersection though I didnt know it at the time.
But my question is. Do you guys think I coulda got him from a stop light or something.

What kind of valves do you have in the heads?? Being aftermarket I would assume they're not restrictive, I'd say you would have taken him pretty easily.

I think you could have taken him. I have a similar setup, you have more mods and better gears. I only lost by about ten feet or so to a 2002 GT and he got the jump on me off the line. You should have him.

i have a modded 305 and i SMOKED a 2000 gt...and i gave a good fight to the 2001 cobra (modded)...i had him off the line...but when he hit 3rd...he WAXED me....new heads are comming soon...when i get $$ and maybe a "mini" supercharger...one of those small holleys...they add about 50-100 hp...not bad....so...with a decent 350 you could WAX him...

Most of the time the new body GT's arent much of a match for us LS1 guys, but a mostly stock L98 car will have a d@mn good race. The important thing to remember is that driver seems to play a large role in how these mustangs perform. I have seen some just barely over 14.0, and others in the low 15's. I guess the 4.6 likes to stay in its powerband, and a bad driver can kill the times. The cobras are even worse in this respect. You'll see one pushing mid 13's all day, and another car that is exactly the same (different driver) pulling mid 14's.
Watch out for these cars guys,
Without any mods on your car, and WAY more miles than the new stangs will have, you might just end up seeing some ford taillights.

My friend had an auto with 3.73s and a Borla cat back, with just these mods SHE went 13.89 at New England Dragway in 70 degree heat. This was an auto so imagine what a stick would run! I have yet to find a stock GT that was willing to race so how you guys find them is hard for me to believe.
No BS, I've raced the same '01 GT twice, once with the girl who owns it driving and once with her boyfriend driving, beat them both by a couple cars. Their times were both in the 14.6's. Just my personal experience at my local track!!!
