after mods...i would imagine with the 5-speed you would be at least as fast as me, and more than likely quicker. plus your engine has more power stock than mine did stock, cause yours is an '87.

Nathan...if it rains then nobody will be going! The track doesn't stay open in the rain.

I look forward to meeting everyone. Gates open at around 10:00AM just so you know. It will go till about 2:00-3:00 for the T&T stuff, and then eliminations for the TFbM club starts.

Hi Paul, is that 130kmh or mph ?

The Borg-Warner close-ratio WC T5 was not made available till '90-'92 and there were not many packaged in f-bodies. Mostly they went into trucks -- not sure which ones. I wonder if you got one ?

Mine is close ratio. I forget which RPO combo but am sure it was something like 1991 model year + LB9 (305) + N10 + GU6 (3.42 rear). I went through this awhile ago and have forgotten the details. The close ratio WC T5 shares the same low ratio for 1st gear as the '90-'92 Mustang, 2nd through 4th has a very tight spread based on 1st gear (really wish I still had the ratios) and 5th gear is a .73 OD.

In 5th gear at 120kmh I am turning about 2600rpm and at 140kmh I am turning about 2850rpm. The T5 in my last 3rd gen, an '88 Formula turned, about 1800rpms in 5th at 120kmh and got about 25 or better on the hiway. In town I rarely use 1st gear -- it is tooooooo lowwwww. When I gas it in 1st the rear just spins and I go no where. So I usually start in 2nd gear and pretend I am a 4 speed.

My last hiway trip I got 19.5mpg which is pathetic and one of the reasons I want to burn my own chip and/or convert to a 6-speed.

adious,
RP.

Here is a map and directions to the track from the website...

http://www.stthomasdragway.com/map_to_track.html

I will be following others there as I can't totally remember how to get there either.

As far as who can go...no you don't have to be a member. The only real differences are the entry fee is a couple bucks more and the TFbM members get priority for runs over the others just there for the T&T. But I'm sure you will easily be able to get in at the very least 3-4 runs. Maybe more but you never know.

IROCKER is convoying with the eastenders of TFbM. I say we meet at 8am, and leave around 8:30... this should get us there by 10am. which is when time trials start. I understand that Kevin can't make it to the meeting place until 10am... hopefully you can work it out Kevin, unless you guys leave later, and I'll just go early myself, or if anyone elase wants to go early with me.

Hey guys.
Take highway #74 south off #401.
A short jog on #3 and south to Sparta.
It's alot shorter then going to St. Thomas and no traffic.

You guys leave when you can, and I will meet you at the track. I am going to go with the TFbM guys from Hamilton, and they're not going by K/W. We'll see each other either way.

Looks like I am using the BALDini racing slicks for Saturday, I couldn't get new tires until next week.... oh well, 2.5sec 60ft times!! Here I come!!!

I might be able to swing 9:30. I won't be racing though. I have my 10 year old boys with me, and besides, I don't want to embarrass myself, after all, what can a stock LG4 do anyways?

If I didn't have the boys, I would be down that track myself. Wait until I have my mods in.
I have the 650 Holley(not installed yet), Edelbrock Intake, K&N Filtercharger and a Transgo shift kit with the Corvette servo. Then we will see what an LG4 will do. Hopefully I will have this done for June 15 ( Dyno Day).

IMHO: It will take a full day to do the manifold and carb and after you are done you will still need more cam. I say re & re the cam while the top of the motor is exposed. This will add a days work and a couple of hundred for cam, lifters, chain, gaskets, etc but will really make the package. Just a suggestion -- the LG4 really hurts for more cam.

Also, the LG4 REALLY responds to cold air, been there and done that on an '85 (got pics somewhere). I ran a dual air-cleaner setup (off an '84 HO) with cold air to each fender and it looked ugly but worked great.

Anyone know if/where the tfbm 'meet-ups' are to drive to St. Thomas in a group?

-Not to start whining- but I'm a PAID member of tfbm and emailed two "executives" about info on this about said I should subscribe to the mail list to get info (anyone who's ever done this knows you get 100's of emails a day with everything from tfbm-related stuff, to tech, to how Fred's toe hurts- i.e. a mountain of useless crap). Not real happy with this response I must say. Another reason why they should create a proper online message board or at least post complete activity descriptions/info (not just Date/Event/Location) on their website.

So- if anyone knows if/when/where any 'meet-ups' are occurring- could you post here?

i will bring my camera

on open days they have very little rule to follow. I bet you could do runs with you boy in the car. but just wait and see after about an hour you will be out there going runs too. its to much fun just to sit and watch.

Won't be making it- wife needs a new car (wrote hers off a couple of weeks ago) and I need to look at a couple tomorrow.

Also- don't trust my pulley setup- haven't got all the kinks out of it.

Speaking of which- anyone know any wrecking yards in the TO area that have a large number of 1988-up 3/4 and 1-ton GMC pickup trucks? I want to find out about getting a serpentine pulley setup from a big block.
