Finally got my Intake

Well, I finally got my Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. I picked it up Friday afternoon from Brant Performance and will be installing it in the morning. It looks like a big job, but I will keep ya posted. I am just happy I could get it, after all the efforts to locate the right one. Can't wait for the next Dyno Day.

Well it's in...and it was an interesting day. I learned a few things throughout the day. One thing is that it doesn't matter what a speed shop says, a mod can me very agravating, THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A SIMPLE BOLT ON!!. The actual installation was really quite easy. It was the little things that took a long time to figure out. The alternator bracket had to be modified a bit and there is always the "oops this isn't going to work" factor which requires a trip to the nearest parts shop. Any ways, it is in and when I drove it to Tim's tonight, it was all good. Definitely feel a difference in the throttle response. BTW Trigger, it was just the valve gasket that wasn't on right. It sure made a mess of the undercarriage and my driveway. Atleast it wasn't leaking at the manifold. I want to thank you again for all your efforts and time today. It was greatly appreciated and if you need help with anything, let me know. I'll be there with my "tool box". I am sure I will have the tool(visegrips) in there somewhere

Hey Kev.

Sounds like we had a similar type of day. Trips to the parts store..loll. And you're right about simple bolts ons.
I'm not sure what day you plan to set up the next dyno meet, but if at all possible, could it not be on the weekend of Aug.24,25.
I'll be away and I'd really like to test again.
If that's the one you had in mind, not a problem. Just thought I would ask.
It'll be interesting to see if the mods live up to the advertising.

Actually I was talking to Palric yesterday and we were thinking about the weekend after labour day. This way you can find out what your mods have done so far, before everyone starts putting their cars away for the winter.I wish I could go tomorrow, just to see if I made a difference in my numbers, but I still have a shiftkit that needs to be installed, so I will just have to wait.

Did you replace everything but the actual bracket? I think mine are the 100 watt, that is why I get flashed at by other motorists at night. You mwill like it. You can actually drive at night without the headlights( not legally though )
Did those pics turn out from yesterday?
