Don't bother paying a shop, just drop it in and plug everything in. Set your base timing and voila, it's that easy. It's actually alot easier than setting up a new carb engine, cause the computer, once activated, takes care of everything.

Only thing I would check is the intake bolt hole angles... the TPI's had a different bolt angle then the early carbs... if that is the case for your car, you will need a different intake base.. for example, the scoggin dickey intake http://www.sdpc2000.com/cart.asp?act...art&catid=1460
I have an 89 aluminum head vette motor. I have everything needed to swap to TPI, the intake base is correct. I just need to know of any little tips or trickes. Maybe I'm forgetting about something?
Well I have started the conversion. So far I have removed the carbed intake and distributor. I also took out the harness and all I have left is to install the TPI. I'm starting the install tomorrow, I just hope I dont run into complications with the new harness. Its more complicated than my carb harness and my carb harness was a PITA. Anyone installed a TPI hareness b4?
