Sweet, it's amazing to see a car the same age as mine and not even see any rust or dirt anywhere, especially under the car. :hail:

Wow! Very nice! To be honest though, I wouldn't want a car like that...after all this time being preserved I would be afraid to drive it. I wouldn't want to be the guy that wrecked it. I believe cars are meant to be driven. I don't get to drive mine nearly enough as I should.

SBlackfoot: I was wondering that too?!?

I haven't seen it whats up ?

We have some low mileage cars on this board -- mine included -- not a spec of rust, etc. so we've seen NICE cars but that eBay unit was impossible I mean they bought it and put it in a showroom for how many years ? 15 ?

I hear you John I feel like going crazy and writing a $20k cheque too...

I bought an '85 IROC new it was the nicest car I ever owned up till then. That eBay '87 reminded me of my '85 it had a few coats of clear on it as well made it shine from every angle.

I test drove new in '87, '88, '89, '90, '91 and some left over '92s IROCs and GTAs in each case from either Wolfe Chev, Flag Chev or Carter Pontiac back in B.C. Test drove the '93s when they came out as well in fact I took one of the first 1LE cars out in '93 but that is another story. When I say I have driven them all I mean it. Oh yeah I drove a 91 or 92 Anniversary Z28 white with Orange stripes as well as a few Players Challenge cars (now they were haywire rides).

just rambling,
RP.

It looks like someone sprayed Armour All or waxed everything with Zanio underneath that car.

If i bought a car that nice, I'd put an SLP sticker on it.

Wow now that is mint... And I know mint is overly used but seriously when someone describes something as mint, it technically should be as mint as that mint car. Mint, mint, mint!!!

Sure. Trivia -- the '87 would have come out in the fall of '86 and had a production run of about 9 months. The price of the loaded '87 IROC would be about $17K CDN. Pretty cheap eh ? Well back then it wasn't !

I test drove a brand new '93 Z28 1LE from the dealers lot, sat down to haggle over prices and walked away because at the time I thought that

$23,000 CDN

... was TOO FREAKING MUCH ! Where is that butt kicking stick ?

Oh yeah did I tell you about the '90 1LE Players Challenge car that I walked away from ? It was brand new in the showroom we sat down to haggle and they would not throw in freight charges so I walked away from the deal... It was going for $21,900 CDN the laminated blue-print papers were still zip-tied to the TPI runners....

I never seem to have the money, the brains and the car together at the same time....

RP.

Very clean!! $12000 usd w/just over 2000 miles. Excellent price, if you can afford a car that is going to sit in a garage all it's life. Very nice even though.

I find that people use the word "MINT" far to easily when it comes to cars. It is as close to mint that you can get...but. Mint means untouched by human hands, still in the origianl wrapper. This car is immaculate, but not MINT! If it had 10miles on it...then OK Mint could be used. But... 2000miles isnt' mint.

Hmmm... where is the definition of Mint... I've always considered a clean car mint... and a car untouched to be simply new.. LOL

Mint. is origanily a referal to legal tender. Such as: coins, bills etc. For instance, the Canadian Mint, in Ottawa. I don't think all the coins and money there have 2000 miles on them. LOL I gues everyone has there own idea what mint is. Trouble is most people use it out of text.
Take Easyspeeds Car for instance. It is a very nice, and Clean car. He refers to it as MINT. I, on the other hand don't. Very nice, but mint....No!
Palric himself, does not refer to it as MINT!
Cleanest IROC you might ever see
Cleanest you may see...probably...Mint? No.

78 original miles??? if so...that I would consider mint I guess. Yes! I work at a car dealership. I hear the word "MINT" get thrown around like, I see little **** on someone stickers in car windows. To many people use it to loosely. That's all I was getting at. Mint is a specific word. I try to use it only when it applies. Good night everyone.

I have to agree. Been around enough restorations and factory originals to know the diff.

I have less kms than EasySpeed but would not call my car mint (nor his -- sorry EasySpeed). IMHO mint is either the showroom floor or a #1 concours restoration. That is why I called the IROC the cleanest you might ever see. Check out the Barret-Jackson auto auctions this fall and you will see what the automotive industry calls mint, restored, classic and others... it always translates into dollars, dollars, dollars.

Either way it spells more $$$ than I have for my toys.

Oh yeah -- mint cars don't break because they are mint (haha).

my .02 cents worth,
RP.

It looks great! But pictures don't show flaws.or imperfections. It may be a full restore for all I know. It may have 10km's for all I know too. It also may be full of bondo, news paper, and fiberglass too.( Not that I'm saying it is) Mint is mint! But only a select few vehicles really deserve that intitlement.

See...This is what I am getting at Nathan. You say it is a full restore...But you also say it's all original? That is impossible. New paint, maybe new glass. It can't be all original. I'm not trying to joust with you on this topic. It is just a technicality I guess. But it still isn't the way you look at it. Enough with the "MINT" topic...lets move on. How does that sound?
