Power Trunk

Last night i opened my hatch, and when i went to close it, it wouldnt latch. The motor just keeps running, but doesnt grab the hatch itself to close it.
Any ideas whats makiong it do this????
If i disconnect the wire to the hatch motor, it wont latch either.

thanx in advance
John

My guess is that the gear nut is probably stripped on it. I have been talking with a guy in the US who rebuilds/remanufactures these pesky units and he sells parts etc....I can e-mail you the information he passed along to me....might be worth chatting with him.

I don't have power trunk but mine doesn't stick either. Stupid thing latches down and stays but you can pull it up a bit more...and it's annoying to know that it doesn't close. Any thoughts?

yo before you jump to conclusions, don't take any part off.

my motor sometimes gets stuck. just stick your finger down the hole and reset it. sometimes the latch stays up.
